Ellen Read (Democratic Party) is a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, representing Rockingham 10. She assumed office on December 7, 2022. Her current term ends on December 4, 2024.
Read (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the New Hampshire House of Representatives to represent Rockingham 10. She won in the general election on November 5, 2024.
In December 2021, Read announced that she was leaving the Democratic Party and registering as an independent.[1]
Biography
Ellen Read was born in Memphis, Tennessee.[2][3] Read earned a bachelor's degree from Vanderbilt University in 2003 and a master's degree from the University of New Hampshire in 2011. Her career experience includes working as a grassroots and field manager with Open Democracy and NH Rebellion, a county coordinator with Public Citizen, and an adjunct professor of American government with Great Bay Community College.[2][3][4][5]
