Summary
They held each other, both trying very hard to be strong. Sam hid his face in Frodo’s curls.
He could feel the cool spots where little Frodo’s tear drops had carved snail-path’s down his collar bone and into his tunic, getting tugged at by the fresh air.
“What are we going to do?” He heard himself ask.
To this Frodo could make no reply, but he felt as if the answer were somewhere near. Held in suspension at some incalculable interval. As if perhaps the warm center of the universe lived half-way between them, balancing the rhythm of their hearts.
