Summary
Commander Shepard is dead.
Garrus saw the blast. He saw the Normandy’s lights and engines stutter, he heard EDI’s metal body hit the floor with a resounding clang. Through the Normandy’s windows, he saw the Citadel bend, then break at the seams. She had been through hell and back, and cheated death once already, but to survive that? Garrus can’t see how. The Reapers fell, but they took Shepard with them. Or rather, she took them with her.

Summary
The scars from Italy are more than skin deep. When recurring nightmares begin to affect Maka as well as Soul, she is forced to confront lingering feelings of failure and responsibility, along with something new—something more complicated.
