Summary
Eagerly, Buck hopped out of the car, grabbing his phone and wallet before heading towards the main door. As he drew close, a man came around the corner of the parking lot. He was tall, dressed in work jeans and boots and an honest-to-god red flannel jacket with a tool belt slung around his hips and an arm full of firewood, and he froze as he caught sight of Buck.
"Uh, hi," Buck said, giving him a small wave as the man's piercing blue eyes narrowed at him.
"Hey, you must be...Evan?" the man guessed.

Tommy is injured in 2005 and moves to Snowflake Hollow, Maine, after inheriting Pine Point Lodge from his great-uncle. Buck is injured in 2019 and decides to cross the country to get a bit of a break before he does something rash (like sue the department).

They didn’t touch in public, not even on their hikes up the countless trails that were never short of people minding their own business as they took in the good weather.
