Summary
Rationally, Jayce is aware that Viktor provokes fights purely for his own enjoyment at least half the time. Not even someone as dead-set on being a bastard can realistically find enough reasons to start an argument as frequently as Viktor does. Rationally, Jayce is aware that he only gives Viktor what he wants when he responds to the provocation with anything other than pure indifference. It’s real fucking difficult to stay indifferent when Viktor starts talking, though, and the urge to rip him apart is so physically overpowering, Jayce really has no other choice than to at least scream at him a little bit.
Or: Viktor pushes, and Jayce has no other choice than to push back, because his ego has always been fragile like that.

“We don’t talk about it.”
The first time Viktor kissed Jayce, it was a quick peck on the cheek, followed by a casual conversation. The next time it's on the lips, but then it's back to talk about formulas. Jayce concludes it must be a cultural thing, and also starts to kiss Viktor back. Everybody else is confused.
A story of two friends kissing each other, who are definitely not boyfriends.

“Father Viktor has brought back all those programs you whined about missing. The East Hall is being converted into a soup kitchen as we speak, and after Mass there’s going to be an open-doors Christmas meal,” his mother says wistfully, drinking in a sip from her mug.
Jayce is going to have to see that for himself. His high income neighborhood and the prestigious, self-righteous families that attend the Church? Rubbing elbows with people in need for the holidays?
Maybe he really does need to meet Father Viktor. And shake his hand.

Or: Jayce comes home for the holidays after a breakup to find a new priest at his childhood Catholic church. Father Viktor is not the kind of person Jayce ever expected to be a priest, but he has a dream to change Jayce's hometown for the better, and he decides to do everything he can to help. The more he helps, the more Jayce sees glimpses of Viktor, the man, not the priest. And the more glimpses he sees of Viktor, the more Jayce is so, so fucked.

Of all the lies Viktor could have told Jayce Talis, "Don't worry, kissing is a Zaun cultural tradition" was some mixture of brilliant and terrible that made Viktor want to go back in time and shake himself. But still, he could handle this. He could fix this. Right?
It's been about six months and thus far the answer is "no".
