Summary
This is a terrible idea.
The medical tent is full of men, littered with the wounded that just rolled up, following men busy bellowing Captain America! over and over. You had seen him then, making eyes at you even though he'd been ragged as a stray dog, bleeding in ripped clothes. It isn't the first time a soldier has looked at you like a little bit of home he wants to touch, and you know it won't be the last. He'd smiled and nodded politely, but the slick curve of his mouth let you know just what kind of man you'd be dealing with later.
And true to form, when you pluck the dog tags off his chest to match the name to the one you've scribbled on his chart, he runs a finger delicately over your hand and says, The name's Bucky.

Summary
Barnes had been transferred into the precinct on an idyllic July afternoon when the sky was cloudless and the breeze was perfect, which Tony can remember because they'd been perfect conditions for plenty of time whiled away on the roof, possibly perfecting dubiously legal chemical mixtures.
Tony had, only naturally, been curious. And he’d only grown more curious about the mysterious new arrival when he’d not brought over a single personal item for his desk (Scott, who was happily violating the ‘two items and two photographs’ rule by plastering the ceiling above his desk with pictures of his small and smiling daughter, maintained that this was unnatural and horrifying), and invariably responded with a flat negative when asked out for lunch, coffee, dinner, breakfast, tea, hot chocolate, cold chocolate, and, on one occasion, a sleepover.

Summary
Steve Rogers met Tony Stark in Afghanistan in 2011, when they were taken captive after their convoy was decimated by the Ten Rings.
Three years later, Steve is slowly getting his life back after the trauma of an imprisonment he can barely remember. He still has nightmares and attacks of paranoia and panic, and still blames himself for the death of the soldiers under his command. But he also has his friends, a cat and a good job. Most of the time he's happy.
Then he comes back from a weekend away and discovers someone's been staying in his apartment. And then he sees a beautiful, haunted man who shouldn't be familiar, but is. Steve's nightmares suddenly include a stranger with blue-grey eyes, and he wakes up mourning for someone who may not even be real.
And Steve's careful, quiet life starts unraveling.

Summary
So long ago the details were lost to time, people began creating guardians of the dead. They were made from dogs, dogs who were buried in graveyards before anyone was laid to rest, their spirits arising as black dogs, bound protectors of the human dead.
Steve had always wondered what would happen after he died. He hadn't expected the answer to be 'wake up in the cemetery he'd been buried in', but here he was, some kind of ghost, and he could see the trees through his hands. It wasn't so bad, and he wasn't alone—a sleek black dog, golden eyes glowing bright, was happily waiting to greet him.
Decades later, on what was supposed to be a quiet, peaceful, definitely-not-life-changing walk through the woods, Bucky stumbled across an abandoned cemetery and into the impossible.
(It's a ghost story and a love story and a story about dogs.)
