There’s something dutiful and ceremonious about returning to form. Eddie’s been talking a lot about religion lately. Spirituality. Buck’s church is bodies. He’s real polytheistic. He’s born again. He prays to all kinds, he worships by kissing at the soles of feet, the taut skin of groins. Buck makes eyes at the guy doing hammer curls a couple benches away. He’s bulky, hairy. Gorgeous light brown skin. He gets eyes back. Buck always does.

Summary
Buck keeps having to remind himself that he’s not tricking Tommy into doing any of this. It’s not like when he was a kid, collecting scars and scrapes like scrapbook souvenirs just to feel the rare brush of his mother’s cold hand on his cheek. Tommy’s been here with him through this because he’s wanted to be here, because caring for Buck is not just something he’s fucking phenomenal at, but something he genuinely derives satisfaction from. The hand solidly slotted against Buck’s back is not there because it’s been coaxed against his will. Sure, arms have been twisted this past week, but none of them were Tommy’s.

Pressing his thumb to hold the crease as tightly as he can, Tommy glances up from the box he's wrapping—inside is something called a "Hatchimal Pufficorn," which can't possibly be actual words in the English language, and yet Jee-yun has talked about nothing else for the last couple of months—and says, "My what?"
Evan watches him tape the edge down. His brows furrow. "I-Is Jee even going to be able to unwrap that?"
"What do you mean?"
"It's got, like, hospital corners. She's going to dislocate an arm trying to get that stupid thing out."

Blaine walks into the kitchen, rumpled in last night's clothes, hair free of gel—Sam rarely gets to see that, even though they’ve lived together twice now.
Sam immediately grins at him. “So how was it? Was he good?”
Blaine freezes. “...What?” He finally asks, voice dripping with confusion.
“Was he good?” Sam repeats. Blaine still doesn't seem to be computing, so he urges, “Y’know, guy talk? C’mon, dude!”
Blaine blinks. “Sam, since when do we do…'guy talk’?”
Or: After his engagement to Kurt breaks down and Blaine moves back to Lima, he's pretty depressed. Sam encourages him to go out and have some fun. It turns out that Sam really, really likes hearing about his best friend's one night stands.

“He lives in Canada,” Eddie shouts from the kitchen island, where he's been tossing grapes into his mouth for the last few minutes. He catches one and drops his head as he chews, leveling Chim and Hen with a significant look. “Buck has an Internet boyfriend who lives in Canada.”
Chim and Hen let out a chorus of “Ohhh,” as realization dawns, while Buck shoots Eddie an irritated glare.
“So, he's being catfished,” Chim nods, everything aligning and making infinitely more sense. “Got it.”

One of the riskiest things you can do during wildfire season is use fire to fight fire. Tommy knows this: he’s skilled at setting up defensive lines, digging the earth to hold back the flames in the distance.
He’s an expert in lighting up the bush to burn anything that might try and cross it.
