Sam grinned through his teeth clattering as he saw Bucky choke and sputter.
“Dinner? A movie? A remote cabin that could double as both a romantic getaway and a murder cabin?” said Sam as he watched Bucky blush redder than anyone Sam’s ever seen, “You did say you owe me four dates.”
“I wouldn’t count this as our first date,” mumbled Bucky as he walked over to the old film projector, “I’ll make sure we’ll go on a much better date than this.”

Or, the seven times Bucky and Sam could write off kisses and the one where they have to admit their feelings for one another.
EXCERPT:
Bucky watched him. How the low rays of the sun kissed his cheek, lighting him up like a golden halo around his shape. How at peace Sam’s face was, not even a hint of a crease of a furrowed brow or the bags under his eyes.
And as he placed his hand on Sam’s shoulder, he could feel Sam’s gaze on him. It was a kind glance that hit Bucky in a certain way, as if looking at the very essence of Bucky. Bucky felt it; how he could relax, just be himself around Sam.
It was perfect in that sunset.
Right up until AJ, Cass, and the other kids bumped into Bucky, Bucky stumbling into Sam, lips on lips.

When Sam and Bucky are found wrestling in their underwear in the Avengers' locker room, a few rumors start to spread.
EXCERPT:
“You too?” said Sam giddily as he took off his goggles.
“Yeah. I found him meowing up a storm on my apartment balcony. Starving. I let her in and she’s been in and out of my life ever since,” said Bucky as he pulled off his sleeve for no reason… then his other sleeve.
Why did Bucky have a Magic Mike tactical jacket?
“I found Figaro the same way. Sort of,” said Sam, “I found her wandering near my apartment balcony, with these big sad eyes and these whimpery mewls for food. She wanders in and out of my apartment now. I’ve gotten her a million cat trees. I probably spoil her to death.”
“Huh,” said Bucky as he unzipped what had become a tactical vest to reveal the Wilson Family Seafood sleeveless shirt he must have stolen from Sam at some point, “What a coincidence. Maybe there was a cat mom around who had a litter near our apartment complex.”

Redwing the Second Chance Falcon matches Sam and the second love of Sam's life... in the middle of Sam's steering wheel getting stolen by said second soulmate.
EXCERPT:
A goose had matched Sam with Riley while they were both jogging.
A talking falcon was currently matching Sam with an infamous murderer right after the man stole Sam’s steering wheel while he was still driving the car.
“Dearly beloveds, it is time for you to join as a pair!” Sam heard before he saw a falcon with the height of one and a half Subway sandwiches and the wingspan of a small child fucking wreck the Winter Soldier.
Just.
Brutally dig his claws into the Soldier’s shoulder as he stabbed the Soldier in the forehead with his beak hard enough to draw blood. The Soldier, understandably surprised, lost his balance and took the steering wheel with him as he fell back onto the street.
“Wrong way, good sir!” cawed the intense falcon as Sam felt the Winter Soldier’s body like a speed bump under the car, “Your mate is up here!”
Then the falcon turned to Sam.
“Nope,” said Sam, shaking his head furiously, “No, no, no. Do not come near me. Take Steve or Nat. No thank you.”

“Just to clarify, when you say vampires, you mean literal, actual vampires. Not, like, aliens that act like vampires,” asked Bucky slowly.
“They’re literal, actual vampires, yes,” said Blade, a combination of words that Sam had never wanted to hear outside of an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. “And I’ve been fighting them since they killed my mom.” Sam couldn’t see his eyes, but Blade’s whole face went tense and his next words came like he was forcing them out. “l could really use some superhero backup.”
This, Sam reminded himself, was his life now. Being Cap. Living with Bucky. Knowing about...vampires. He took a deep breath in, let it out slow. Vampires are real he tried, testing it out. It didn’t feel great.
Sam discovers he's got limits on this superhero bullshit. Bucky sympathizes.
