Summary
Perseus Jackson has been in Tartarus since he was twelve years old. Luke’s gilded shoes dragged him to his nightmare. He was betrayed and broken and beaten into a monster and left to die. His skills and powers and wits and wills have been corrupted and killed. He gets a pet dog. Not in that order.
Annabeth Chase has just fallen into Tartarus. Using her wits and forsaking her pride, she might just make it out of this alive. She might just close the Doors of Death and fulfill the prophecy with the Seven. She can do this….though with more trauma added and unpacked, of course.

Summary
The war is over.
When King Cepheus of the emerging kingdom of Arzawa attempts to invade the much older kingdom of the Kykladic Islands, he is unprepared for the ferocity and skill of the soldiers and mariners who defend their homeland, and for the raw, wild power of Perseus, the young prince who commands them.
Forced to retreat in defeat, he now desperately treats for peace with Perseus and his retinue of aligned lords in an encampment on the island of Naxos. He has agreed to pay tribute to the prince, but now, in the final stages of discussion, the topic turns to the matter of King Cepheus’ armies, who are camped on the far side of the island.
