    Ruts are nothing new to Alain, he’s twenty and has had a number of them since he was sixteen. Though, it’s the time between them that causes them to be painful, albeit being on suppressants. His last rut was a year and a half prior, just a month after the crisis, leaving this one to be hell.
    His instincts to knot and mate Ash fight with his desire to protect him and keep him safe. Not once in the time they’ve been together has Ash been knotted or experienced Alain’s rut, but he’s more than willing to help in any way he can.

    Summary

    The Kalos Incident ends in the worst case scenario. (The lost of the Chosen One is too great, it must be fixed.)

    Alain travels back in time to prevent Team Flare's plan from succeeding, from Ash dying, from his own guilt.

    But the road to recovery and healing is a long one.

    (AKA I wanted to write a damn time travel fic and decided I was going to fix every single plot I found infuriating in Pokemon which includes adding back in the inclusion of Aura, making sure Ash didn't grab the idiot ball as soon as he reached a new region and other fun things.)
