In retrospect, it really should have looked stupider. “What Zuko needs—” His voice becomes low and monotonous as the history lessons Gran-gran liked to dish out, and he whips a seal-walrus mustache from his pocket and plasters it onto his face with embarrassing levels of enthusiasm. “—is therapy.”

    “Where the hell did you get that mustache, Sokka?”

    (Or, the Gaang attempts to give Zuko therapy. Zuko just wishes Sokka would stop interrogating him with a mustache.)

    Or,

    Sokka makes some discoveries after Zuko joins the Gaang. Perhaps the Fire Prince has more honor than anyone had realized.

    “Shit,” Toph grunts, and promptly drops them all into a pit, shutting the ceiling and encasing them in total darkness. The raiders they’re fighting are good, fast and clearly experienced, and Toph is starting to get irritated and just a little hungry.

    Katara and Sokka freeze instantly. The raiders do too, albeit with a bit more cussing. Aang switches from airbending to earthbending so that he can see and Zuko… keeps fighting?
