Summary
Once upon a time, in a magical kingdom found only in story books, there lived a lonely prince. A wedding of the ages will soon take place to betroth him to the fairest princess in all of the land, hopefully having his true love's kiss. Prince Evan will finally make his King, Queen and Kingdom proud; all the while meeting the love of his life. He couldn't be happier....well, that was until he was pushed into a wishing well that transported him underneath the Santa Monica Pier. Or; Eddie moves to El Paso, and his new coworkers come to certain assumptions. Eddie... does not correct these assumptions.

It was strange to think that the jeep he was originally given by Maddie to escape their parents at 17 to live in a small, roach-infested room, had him running back to her and where she’d settled post-divorce from Doug. This jeep had been with him when he fell in love with the summer temp at his workplace – a grungy grocery store that sold everything you needed but left you feeling sticky and uncomfortable – and it’d been with him when they’d had their first date. It’d been with him when he was engaged, and then married. It was with him when he drove to the CVS to get his pregnancy test and then with him when he drove Eddie to basic training. And now, here it was helping him escape again.

Summary
May realised a very long time ago that Buck was basically her stepbrother. So, when the lightning strike finally provided the impetus for Bobby to admit that he also brought a kid into their family, she had every intention of seizing the opportunity to properly integrate Buck into the Grant-Nash family.
And, look, if in the process she also gains a brother-in-law… clearly the universe was just waiting for the opportunity to make that happen.

Or, the one where May ensures Buck is enfolded properly into the Grant-Nash clan, which means Bobby (and by extension the firefam, because gossip) suddenly gets significantly more insight into the inner workings of the Buckley-Diaz family, and all roads lead to Buddie…
