Summary
He frankly couldn't care less about the specifics of Lan Wangji's love life. Someone had to get some action, after all. Lan Qiren wouldn't touch a woman with a ten-foot meditation staff, Qingheng-Jun's wife was pushing up daisies, and Lan Xichen, well… the rumors surrounding his alleged entanglement were enough to make a saint clutch his pearls. It was enough to give a man a headache – a sentiment underscored by the dull ache thrumming behind Qingheng-Jun's eyes.
More importantly, his son, the chief cultivator, was apparently indulging in…depraved acts. If Lan Wangji could be so shameless, what else was he neglecting in his duties? And Lan Qiren, bless his uptight soul, clearly wasn't doing anything about it – or perhaps couldn't. So, naturally, the burden fell on Qingheng-Jun, the only logical solution.
A shiver ran down his spine at the thought. Fatherhood. A terrifying, truly traumatic concept. But needs must. It seemed his self-imposed exile was finally over. He was going to be a father, for better or worse.

“Psst. Lan Wangji.” Jiang Cheng whispered, discreetly nudging his brother-in-law who was also sitting at his table. Jiang Cheng knew him well enough to tell that Lan Wangji was just as bored as he was, though it was far less obvious on his blank face.
“Mn?” Lan Wangji answered, trying his best not to take his eyes off Sect Leader Yao, and feign paying attention.
“I’ve noticed there’s always these two asshole cultivators that bad-mouth pretty much everybody at these Conferences.” Jiang Cheng hissed.
Lan Wangji paused, perplexed, “...Really?”
Jiang Cheng vigorously nodded. “I’ve heard them multiple times!”
“Who are they?” Lan Wangji asked urgently, glancing around the room to seek out the perpetrators.
“Me and you.”

“Okay stay calm.” Jiang Cheng said, mostly to himself to quell his own panic. “Your Uncle will probably just suspect it’s Wei Wuxian’s fault-”
In the distance, they heard a shrill “These talismans have Hanguang-jun’s writing!”
Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji winced. They slowly turned around in unison, and the distance they saw the horrifying sight of the Lan elders, led by a furious Lan Qiren, running in their direction at full speed with their swords drawn.
“Why are they so fast? ” Jiang Cheng whispered, frozen in fear. Sure he was a Sect Leader, and he’d fought many battles before, but he’d never tried to outrun an angry mob of old men.
“There! Up ahead! It seems like Sect Leader Jiang is his accomplice!” One of the elders cried pointing to them. And then the mob began running faster.
Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji briefly glanced at each other before sprinting off, as fast as their legs would take them.

Summary
All of a sudden, Lan Wangji found himself choking on a mouthful of snow, courtesy of Sect Leader Jiang. Jiang Cheng cackled at Hanguang-jun’s scandalized expression, but his laughter was short-lived as Lan Wangji retaliated and spit the snow directly into his face. Lan Wangji’s rare smile appeared once more as he watched Jiang Cheng sputter and flail his arms in disbelief.
“You’re shameless!” Jiang Cheng hissed, furiously scrubbing his face.
“You started it.” Lan Wangji shot back.
“You’re the one who put snow down my robes in the first place!"
