He'd only seen the transformation a handful of times in person. The flare of power like static electricity against his fur, mouth agape in open adoration as Sonic lifted into the air with the power of pure chaos at his fingertips. No one was more worthy of it, in Tails's opinion. If there was anyone who would use that power to protect the world, it was Sonic.
And he believed the emeralds knew that, too, or they wouldn't give him that power so freely.But he wanted to help. He wanted to protect the world by Sonic's side, to be trusted just as much. He wanted Sonic to believe in him, too.

At one point, Tails and Knuckles used the Chaos Emeralds alongside Sonic to go super. They don't really do that anymore. Though if Sonic has anything to say about it, they won't ever again.

Sonic snaps his head up, seemingly no longer aware of the dizziness that made him feel sick or the exhaustion that weighed his body down. All of his previous worries are now replaced by concerns for his little brother.
Tails was there. He remembers seeing the fox. The last thing he remembers is seeing the fox.
It's coming back to him now, in an episodic way he remembers what got him here. Eggman attacked. Shadow was there. So was Zavok. And Metal and Chaos.
