Summary
The night after their exhibition match and securing their sponsor, Tino's Toughest returns to the Ruby Village and Tino Tung takes a little time alone to reflect on how far he's come and how far he might still be able to go.
To his surprise, he's not the only one who'd rather spend the evening introspecting instead of celebrating.
(Or, Liang Shen is fascinated despite himself by Tino's relationship to failure. Tino tries to explain it.)

Five times the last dream of Harry du Bois changes, and one time it's not a dream at all.
(Or, the Psyche department of the Breakdown Gang tries to help Harry move on, one step at a time. It's easiest to reach him through his dreams.)

Summary
It is unkind, perhaps, to think of a man as a dog that needs training. But in Kim’s defense, Lieutenant Double-Yfreitor Harrier du Bois really does invite the comparison.
(Kim reflects on his new partner's behavior and growth, from the first day of their meeting to what is very nearly the last one.
But it won't be. Not if he has anything to say about it.)

Summary
A snapshot of a day on a ship sailing away from Willowside.
Khufar helps Panacea deal with seasickness, learns a fun fact about the sun, learns a horrifying fact about horses, and then gets Royari to fact check it all.
The Makeshift Wonders have a lot to learn about the surface world, but at least the swaying of the ship beneath their feet can be the least of their problems. After all, traveling with the Wandering Three is never a dull affair.
(Especially when you're busy trying to wrap your head around the fact that you're in love with one of them.)

Summary
In the aftermath of their rescue from the temple of Dagon, Stirvyn gets his first lesson, Ledorick has a nap, and Tashlock is here to help however he can. Together, they all learn what a difference a well-made stew can make.
(When looked at from a certain point of view, Tashlock is the only one to really have his act together anyway.)

Summary
Excerpts reference Lieutenant Double-Yefreitor Du Bois' belief that he can (and does) "reload" his own life after failing, like some kind of video game character.

Summary
To the southwest of Revachol, far into the wild pale yonder is a radio repeater station. On this station is a corpse -- a woman killed in cold blood. There is no suspect. There are no clues. It is a thoroughly impossible death, a murder in utter isolation.
Two officers arrive on the scene. Voices bleed from the tower above. Something is horribly wrong.

Love is hard to convey sometimes. Sometimes, you just have to vaguely gesture to your stomach to get things across; or maybe, you'll have to do something much simpler.

Summary
KIM KITSURAGI — “You don’t remember what a Divine is,” he says, “but you remember how to jam through a high-security door without setting off the foghorns?”
INTERFACING [Formidable: Success] — It’s less of a door and more of a five-foot cement wall. You have your fingers stuck to the terminal—a chunky, green-tinted machine that has seen better days. Some of the wiring is exposed on the side.
HAND/EYE COORDINATION [Challenging: Success] — It feels good, going through the motions. Holding cables down with one hand, scraping the lid off with a rusted knife while Kim shines a light on your hands. Familiar.
YOU — “Yeah, hey, I guess it’s like running.” You flash a grin at him. “Or riding a bike.”
KIM KITSURAGI — He squints at you.
ENCYCLOPEDIA [Medium: Success] — A bicycle—or bike—is a millenia-old outdated concept, let alone a reality. There isn’t enough space here in Counterweight for people to drive bicycles—it’s all traffic and hurried passerby. The domes are cramped and not vehicle-friendly.
YOU — Bummer.
KIM KITSURAGI — “In any case, I’m not sure most people would have ‘circuit disabling skills’ as part of their basic motoric accoutrements.”
