"No need." Lan Wangji muttered, but his voice was barely audible to Jiang Cheng's ears.
"I thought having one brother was enough." Jiang Cheng shot him a wry smile, but the corners of his eyes had become moist. "I never knew I needed two."
Lan Wangji froze at that, finally staring back up at Jiang Cheng with eyes widened ever-so-slightly.

“And what about you?” Wei Wuxian finally focused his attention on Jiang Cheng. “Will you let me hold your rabbit A-Cheng?”
Oh no.
“No.” And then Jiang Cheng clamped his mouth shut as hard as he could, straining to keep the effects of the curse at bay. The words were bubbling in his throat, but he’d have rather died than be forced to say them aloud.
Wei Wuxian, oblivious to his little brother’s inner struggle, pressed on. “I won’t bother you for an entire week! Please A-Cheng?”
“No…” and then to his horror, the curse overpowered him and he blurted out the words he’d been trying to suppress. “Xian-gege.”
Jiang Cheng’s face immediately went aflame.

“Just you wait!” Jiang Cheng ranted, rubbing at the sore spot on his chest from where the rock had hit him. “We’ll get the entire cultivation world to say your name, over and over again just for good measure. Lan Wangji. Lan Wangji. Lan Wangji. Just like that! And guess what? Even then, you’re still not going to get your voice back, asshole!”
“Fine.” Lan Wangji snapped, at his wit's end. “I don’t need my voice anyways. I’m perfectly capable of-”
Suddenly, they both froze, staring at each other with wide eyes.
“...You...You can talk now…” Jiang Cheng whispered, mortified.
“...Mn...” Lan Wangji was floored.
Jiang Cheng had unknowingly broken the spell.
