Summary
Everyone knew how the story went.
An impersonator came, took the Great Sage's place, and used what they knew to hurt his friends. The enraged King went after them in a fight that wouldn't let up. Finally, the foe was revealed to be one Six-eared Macaque, a celestial primate not unlike Sun Wukong himself — a fact that didn't save them from being brutally killed off barely a few seconds later.
When The Monkey King chose to feel pity and spare a dying Macaque, he altered the course of history. What exactly that entailed, only time could tell.

Macaque doesn't die. This has consequences.

Uncharted x TLOU au
In the fall, one season after the beginning of the events of The Last of Us, another duo heads west. One of them, an ex-FEDRA soldier looking out for himself; the other, a kid who knows way too much about things that no longer matter — longing to find something not even he is sure he can.
Stuck together by unexpected circumstances, they make their way through the country in an impossible search. As the seasons change, so does their relationship and views of each other.

“You still want to kill me, right?”
It takes a second for the words to register; Macaque doesn’t lie. “Yes.”
Something in Wukong’s shoulders slumps just a little more, but his voice remains level, if low. “If I said I’d let you, would you be willing to do me a favour? Not anything massive, just... help us defeat the Lady Bone Demon.”
Macaque takes a moment to remind himself to breathe. The twist in his stomach drives his next words: “You’re immortal. This is a trick, isn’t it?”
Finally, finally, Wukong looks up at him. The smile on his face is wry. “You know I’m getting weaker, Macaque. You’ve known since I came back, haven’t you?”
OR: the one in which swk promises that macaque can kill him if they beat lbd . this is fine, until it's not
