A month or so ago, her new history teacher (Mr Thomas) had told the class about a school trip, for extra credit, to Savannah. Obviously, she hadn't had any interest in going. Staying away from a place she knew well for more than a day? With loud, abrasive people?
But Aiden, a new kid in her year, would not stop pestering her. They were stuck in a group together with a few others, and he was by far the most irritating of them; following her around, nagging her constantly with a barrage of “Are you coming?” or, “You should come on the trip!”
God knows she never wanted to come, but he had shown up at her house, invited himself in and convinced her dad she should go. And the last thing Ashlyn wanted was to disappoint her dad.
