Basically, my take on Riddlebird in a DC elseworlds of my own creation. Based primarily off of Gotham for making me like these two idiots together in the first place. Spans from the creation of both the Penguin and the Riddler to their first encounter with Batman, so prepare for a long ride.
Chronologically the first in the Timeline for this series, but also Stand-Alone and mainly here for a bit of fun :D

After the flood, Bruce Wayne starts mentally devolving. The dual personas that he takes on start to morph and twist into something almost unrecognizable, something twisted and wrong. At the same time, he starts making enemies on the board of Wayne Enterprises with his demands to restructure the company towards the common good. Bruce is not entirely sure which of these were the reason that he ends up in Arkham Asylum, charged with a double murder that he doesn't think he would ever commit and has no memory of doing so.
Angry and feeling helpless, Bruce takes out his frustrations on his roommate Edward, the Riddler. The two of them quickly fall into a twisted, codependent relationship.
