Papyrus was more than a little tired of the constant balls and feasts his parents threw in an attempt to get him to settle down. He had no interest in the various Monsters and Humans that showed up, few friends aside. He simply wanted a small cottage to retire to and to be happy with his life. And if he could stop feeling broken, that would be wonderful as well.
Rosi just wanted to see the sights and if it got her away from her family and her species prejudices, all the better. She knew the legends, she knew the expectations. But she didn't want any of them, she couldn't care less. Being rescued, then having to rescue a chivalrous skeleton wasn't something she'd factored into the over all plan, but it seemed to be working out well.
Sans was tired of the dreams, voices, the screams and the phantom pains. He just wanted peace. He wasn't expecting it to show in the form of a magic-phobic Human.
Lauren is afraid. Afraid of what she is, who she is, what will happen when magic gets near her. Sans wasn't expecting her to almost literally fall into his life, she wasn't expecting to end in his.
Together, all of these broken creatures find their way, stumbling, pained, but healing each other in the end. -

Peter only remembers waking up one morning with the rest of the Avengers at the compound. There was no alarm and the day was fairly calm, at least that's what he thinks happened.
The only thing he knows for sure now is that he woke up this morning as a dog, and he had always been a dog, at least that's what his memories told him. He remembers being sent to the pound as a puppy and how scary it was with the larger dogs trying to intimidate him, he remembers Tony Stark and Pepper Pots walking into the room looking at the other animals until their gaze fell on Peter. He was almost worried they wouldn't pick him. He was almost convinced that that was his life. Almost was the key word.
When he woke up that morning he thought life as Peter Parker the Spider-Man was just a strange dream, but it wasn't until he found he could climb up walls that he realized just how wrong he was.
OR
Peter and the rest of the Avengers had a thing happen to them and now they live in a small town out in the middle of nowhere Kansas. Everyone there goes through their new daily lives with no recollection of who they used to be and the only one that truly remembers is Peter, but maybe things aren't so bad like this.

Its not long, but its an exploration of a magic that is extremely fascinating and intriguing. This author has long been a fav of mine, and I really love this take on both Harry as well his magic. Its a particular skill of this author, but I've definitely encountered it in other fics - the way magic is described is visceral and imaginative and evocative.
It's a fun read. Especially since Harry has basically no morals, but also no evil ambitions. It makes it rather amusing, frankly.

Bookmarker's Notes
Honestly, I couldnt even begin to describe this book if I tried, at least not without it sounding absolutely crazy, unhinged and crack. It's not, though. It feels natural and real.
What I can say is that its really good. The character growth and the struggles they have to go through is intense. But the end... it's worth it. I wish I got more of an epilogue but that doesnt make it any less fantastic.
There's this point where everything changes and it leads to a cool story but I do kinda feel like a couple plot points before that end up just getting dropped / lost, and even after that point, the end goal /premise / idea changes drastically and that feels a bit sucky bc it doesnt end up getting really solved. The ending is based on that not getting solved and that feels... a bit eh. BUT
BUT its still rly good and I had a great read.

This one was a fucking weird one.
Seriously. As always, this author + writing about magic = enthralling. They always know how to write magic in a way I havent seen anybody do, and it's often some new kind of magic each time, that works and is explained completely differently, opens up new world building and its so goddamn fascinating.
However, this one is definitely a bit fucking weird at times. Especially any smut. Theres not a shit ton of it, but its still really fucking weird.
But its really cool. This little fire cracker Draco delights me with all his oddities, and Harry's slow acceptance and then resulting happiness is so heartfelt to read. Everyone else kinda annoys me, not gonna lie.
I also wish I could read more!!! The dark magic, the dark paths sound so fucking cool and interesting and ahhhhh. Also I wanna see more of Harry's powers and hell, even Draco's, and just more!
Anyways, would recommend if you like weird or alternative magic, explained in depth and in engrossing and fascinating ways, but also this one IS fucking weird. So. Yknow. Harry becomes part snake and can shape shift with snake stuff. It sometimes is a bit gross but yknow its also mostly really cool.

Bookmarker's Notes
Probably one if the first decent Tom x Harry fics. I didnt really want to read into this pairing, because it felt really weird and kinda disturbing. However, morbid curiosity got the better of me.
Would like to say, though, that it IS really weird and kinda disturbing.... but if you go into it with that in mind, its a pretty good read. Some characters are wildly OOC, especially Harry, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. In fact, it's done pretty brilliantly in this book. I really REALLY liked it. Its fascinating, the magic is cool as hell, and Harry is just a being of unintentional complete and utter chaos, which becomes more and more evident as the book goes in.
The book starts off a bit weak, honestly. I nearly dropoed it but I stuck through and it is totally worth it. I know it's written from a young Harry perspective but even then, it feels a bit difficult to really immerse yourself into the book. It feels boring. It also feels badly written in the beginning, but I'm pretty sure it's a deliberate choice, especially when you see how naturally the writing changes and slowly becomes the exact opposite - so engrossing and well written and petty fantastic.
Also Harry seems like a complete weirdo and gets more and more sociopathic- feeling as the book goes on, but he GOES TO THERAPY and that slowly helps him. He is still a bit of a weirdo and pretty apathetic, fairly amoral, but he is more... there becomes a lot more depth to him, more of his personality shining through, that felt like it was hinted at before on the edges but you weren't quite sure. By personality, I do NOT mean canon, I mean his own unique brand of chaos shining. Also, he is a lot happier and healthier and everything, while still being a ball if nonsense. Love him.
I would absolutely recommend giving this story a go, if you're into Tom x Harry. It's not a dark book, by any means, but be sure to not bring your moral compass either. Buckle up, and prepare for weird but strangely fun and absurdly interesting.

No pairings but better for it. So many feels. I proper cried at some parts.
This book is fantastic. Once again, Lomonaaeren has an absolute gift when it comes to writing magic, and writing cool characterisations. This book is mostly that, and it is brilliant, as a result. Who would've thought that Transfiguration would be so damn COOL!? So insanely interesting and overpowered and enticing to read. I adore it. And the characters, esp HARRY, just so fascinating.
The ending is a bit rocky but that was kinda expected, and it fits. It works really well. It isn't the happiest ending but it isn't bad or sad - it feels hopeful. Lovely.
The growth and acceptance and fascinating theories brought forth is amazing. I really really enjoyed this. It starts off good, and only gets better and better and it's never NOT brilliant. Definitely worth the read if you're interested in cool magic and it's theory and uses, a lil bit of philosophy in a way, and some big feels. Also, extremely dubious morals. Or less than dubious, just straight up kinda dark, but I adore it.

Bookmarker's Notes
These had their ups and downs, although ultimately was very very satisfying.
I loved the first book. It's a bit slow but it really built up to what I see as the main story (ie. the second book) well. It introduced the characters and the circumstances and their stances and stories and magic. It was fascinating and I reread scenes because they were just so cool. I think some more character development could've went into some of the side characters, but I understand why it didn't. The reason being that the moment you enter the second book, mostly, they all become utterly irrelevant.
That's a bit annoying, I'm not gonna lie. Harry has this great reluctance to leave that world, is eventually forced to do so by an extremely annoying and obvious plot device of a character, and then once he is there for like a week, he is like yknow actually all of those people are irrelevant. It takes a third of the book of his dithering (not even half the length of the first book) but then he just kinda unilaterally writes em all off because he has Tom now and that's just... a bit weird, I guess. It never really feels resolved well, in opinion. I think because it happens so quickly comparatively to how long the first book is that sets it all up, it just feels a bit weak.
The events in the second book in general are simultaneously amazing and also... way too fast yet not that much happens. I feel like the war is won too quickly and easily, and not enough scenes have real weight to them. The magic is awesome and really fun and enjoyable. Adore it, as always with Lomonaaeren. But I do wish there was more time and space to explore it.
A lot of criticisms but only because its Lomonaaeren, my favourite author, so I have an extremely high bar for them. This isnt one of the best works, but it's still bloody good. I feel like you can't ever go wrong reading their works, and I haven't been proven wrong on that yet.
This is no exception. It's really good. The pacing is a bit off for me, and the continuation of certain plot points could've been tied a bit better, but ultimately, still great.
The interactions between Tom and Harry are fantastic.

Bookmarker's Notes
This book is pretty cool. It reminds me a bit of "The Farland Files" by PurpleMango, which in turn reminds me of "ink and parchment | blood and bone" by Rose_by_another_name. I think I saw them mention PurpleMango as an inspiration for another book, so it makes sense. It's similar but different. If I had to rank the three books, this would be the lowest one, but that doesn't mean it's bad, it's still pretty good.
A lot of the Female Harry Potter stories seem similar, but this one has a really cool and unique concept that I absolutely adore. Everytime she goes to sleep while at Hogwarts, she time travels to Tom's era. It's really cool and it's also, at the same time, like watching a car crash in slow motion. The more in love and the more sweet and heartfelt and amazing and entwined they become, the more you know the inevitable. This feels really unique, I haven't encountered anything like this and it's pretty incredible, in that regard.
I really love the relationship between them and this author spends a LOT of time on their interactions. It's great that you can mostly feel this tangible a fully fledged thing between them.
It's also a twins story, but same as with Farland Files, this feels like an extra tidbit that honestly is only relevant a bit in the beginning as a basis to contrast their lives, and then not again. If I thought it was underutilized in Farland Files, it's almost non-existent in its importance here.
Theres a couple things I don't really like. Firstly, it spends most of the book on her time with Tom, and on things that feel inconsequential in regards to that. I also feel sometimes like I missed scenes or instances. It feels choppy. Her life outside of that is kinda of just... TOLD to you, hastily, so it can spend more time with Tom doing the same thing over and over, which sucks because her life outside of him seems potentially really interesting. But her personality becomes a bit... an extension of him. He makes her strong, she gives him a heart. That's really sweet, it really is.... but she IS strong in magic, and literally never learns to control it, or use it much to her advantage. She's constantly getting insanely hurt and she is... just... honestly, its like the author gave her the tools to be a complete badass, but then she was like thank u but rather not, let me have a nice good cry about every single thing instead. And whilst that's relatable on SOME level, it gets a bit tiring. She's just... a bit irritatingly weak, even tho she also ISNT but it always comes across that way and I dont enjoy that.
Pacing. It spends some time in first year, completely skips both second and third year, which I feel like is quite a jump, especially considering it then stays painfully long on 4th year. Like wooooow does it STAY on 4th year. A lot of focus is on the training she does with Tom, and like okay I get it, very cool, but it honestly starts draaaaggging. Annoying for multiple reasons because she may get training and be theoretically a badass, she never gets to SHOW that in her time, in her world, for herself in ANY capacity. EVER. To just be her own person.
It also just STAYS in 4th year, and fuckin draaaaags which is annoying because you're like ooooo theyre gonna finally meet irl and he is gonna realise that she is now alive and he is the reason and yada yada - its this underlying tension because YOU know but they dont, and whilst I love it, its amazing, it gets.... really shit after awhile because it fucking drags So much that the tension is just lax at the end. But honestly, I could live with that, if it wasnt for the next part.
The book, after that, has a part where it splits and the author says they're gonna write the true ending at some point, but they wrote a quicker, shorter, alternative happy ending instead of writing another 200k words or whatever they envisioned. They said they still plan to do it but whelp that was 2 years ago, so if that changes, I'll change my review, but for now, I only have the alternate ending and I have OPINIONS. I wont spoil, but I will say that it absolutely is a happy ending and its just a lot of sweet and lovely fluff for like 5 chapters at least. Its also, in my opinion, is a cheap way out and completely undermines the fact that I had sit through the utter dragggg that was 4th year for it to not even matter in the end. So I'm not a huge fan, it feels unsatisfactory for me, and a proper "nobody else matters except this boy, despite the family relationships and friendships, maybe even a life I've been trying to build around her, fuck em".
It's a good book, a fantastic concept, a weak to mediocre character, cute relationship, doesnt have the ending it should have and I really hope I do get to see the real ending one day.
Also the Trunks are Crack, and its hsrd to take seriously at all from sheer ridiculousness but I mean it's also cool so. And Abyss the Hellhound is my fav character.

Bookmarker's Notes
This is honestly in the upper crust of fanfics I've read. It's definitely one of the best No Hogwarts fics, that'sfor sure. It was really really good.
It kind of reminded me of "Hermione Granger's Hogwarts Crammer for Delinquents on the Run", whixh was rlt popular with like 35k kudos last time I checked. But honestly, this one is way way better. I guess I see the similarity because in both, Harry runs away from the Dursleys and kind of grows up on the streets, trying odd jobs and stuff just to stay alive, not aware that he is special or even funny understanding magic, tho he suspects SOMETHING. When they try convince him to come to the wizard world and The Savior, he isn't very impressed. Those are the big similarities, honestly, but other than that, they're quite different.
This book, tho... it's important to note that the main themes of this book have absolutely nothing to do with the canon plot line. Most of the main plot of this book also has nothing to do with the canon plot line. But it's not as though the canon plot line doesn't exist. It does. It's just... the way it intersects with the main story is really interesting because you're so used to THAT being the plot, but again, in this book, it isn't.
This book isn't about that. This book is about life, not war. This book is about what it means to be alive, to fight for it, to cling to it, to live it and for life to be yours. It's about what it means to fully experience and appreciate what you have and what's around you. To make the most of what you have, even if what you have is next to nothing. Sometimes, that means you can't be happy, but that doesn't matter. You can be, one day. Maybe you'll learn. Maybe you'll be able to. But in this book that is about life, you are the master of your own life.
This book can be broken up into segments, little pockets of story. The chapters are pretty important because the chapters contain each segment of story. Which may sound like "well duh" but what I mean is that the ending of a chapter and beginning of a new chapter is pretty important. Each new chapter is gonna be different. New Things will happen, things will Change. Yknow? Because of this, and just the way it's written, the pacing is really well done.
I really enjoyed this book. Very little knowledge of the lore is required. Besides the basics, I suppose. That's because canon is about the wizarding world and Hogwarts, and all their wonders and horrors, and this book absolutely is not. Of course, not forever, eventually two become one but even then, Harry isn't just thrust into canon plot, past erased without looking back. No. He already has his own life, has his own knowledge, his own... everything. He is his own person. Which you know, because you were with him, taking those steps with him! And THAT is fascinating.
It honestly kind of amazes me this book is only 60k words. It feels like it's 3 times its length. It's incredible.
Side note: miscommunication isn't a main plot point driving unnecessary angst! Sexual desire isn't the entirety of their relationship!!! They have a healthy relationship with good communication and a strong bond! Love that. ❤

At some point, I mostly gave up tagging. I always enjoy tagging everything, and as you can see, I made a valiant effort! But there's just a lot going on, a lot that happens, that eventually it got way too much to try tag it all, and it would start becoming completely meaningless anyways. But I tried, nonetheless, so now we have a ridiculously long tags list, whoops. Now, moving on...
THIS SERIES. No, no, let's first start with THIS AUTHOR. This author is probably my absolute favourite author. Their books are absolutely fantastic, yes, that is undeniable. But the way they WRITE, the absolute magic and marvel of it, THAT is what is so sublime. They write in a way that creates character in a way I've never seen, this depth, in a way where every word is necessary and important because it builds on the story, yes, but more importantly, on the world and the characters and their relationships. Not a word out of place, all of it necessary, and yet you could cut out whole parts of the story, scenes and sections, and technically, the story would remained untouched bc most of it is not actually strictly necessary for that. That may sound contradictory, but it certainly isn't. Because that's the thing, the story is good, yes, but its radiant brilliance comes from everything else. I can't fully explain it, but... they write so unpretentiously, and yet everything is filled with depth and tells you so much. It is not the kind of book that sounds like poetry, no fancy metaphors, no pretty words and phrases - these are things I love in writing and this author doesn't do that, but it's better because of that. It doesn't try to stand out, so you almost don't realise that it is the writing and not the story that is so fantastic. The story is amazing, sure, but the writing is what makes it so fantastic.
This isn't gore filled, fast and snappy action packed, gruesome and horrid acts, extremely explicit violence and also extremely explicit smut - none of that exists. A lot of authors use those scenes as tools to show a story, to show the grim realities of war, to show how strong a relationship is etc. There is nothing wrong with that, BUT! But. This author can write about war and love and family and everything and anything without those being the tools they use. They can write the emotions and feelings and show you everything they want to by telling you everything *surrounding* it, so that you KNOW and FEEL it more than you ever would have otherwise.
It also takes me much longer to read than most books, I deliberately end up reading it slower, because it's written less like a book and more like a storyteller. These sound synonymous but they're not. It's like someone is TELLING you a story, as opposed to there being a story that you are reading.
It's hard to explain, I probably sound slightly deranged, but all I can really say is that their writing is really really REALLY brilliant.
As a result, this series is phenomenal. I feel literally like I was given this as a gift, like I've been bestowed a blessing being able to read it, because I have, I really have. I am absolutely planning to reread this again at some point, probably multiple times. It's worth it. It's truly just so so brilliant.

Summary
Harry’s occlumency reveals his disturbing home life which sets off a chain reaction that cannot be undone. Snape finds himself begrudgingly caring about the bespectacled boy, Harry discovers what it's like to have adults who care, and Hermione finds herself becoming an accidental crime lord. Draco Malfoy is very much along for the ride, in all senses of the word.
A ridiculous blend of hilarity and tragedy, Another Mind Game is the multi-faceted fanfiction you didn't know you wanted but will absolutely adore.
Featuring a sassy Harry Potter, good friends, and a great deal of sarcasm.
There are also ridiculous endnotes if you make it far enough. (You can do it!)

Genuinely brilliant.
There are some tiny plot threads that I wish were followed through a bit more, but not in the sense that they're forgotten, bc mostly no, not the case, just that I wish I saw more of the journey. I guess that's actually my only complaint about the book. I wish there was more... in between. More scenes all around the current ones because the current ones are so so so good but there's a lot of... assumption of what happened, implied depth that I don't want implied, I want to SEE it. But I'm oh so greedy, so there's that.
However, as a short book, its phenomenal. It doesn't even FEEL that short, it certainly feels like a book that is far more than under 60k words. It is technically a short story (in my mind, at least, that's what this length means) but it is a fullt fledged story that grasped hold of my heart with an iron grip and did whatever the hell it wanted with it, and I still thanked it at the end because it was so worth it, and I'm happy I had the honour to experience it.
The book is in large part about abuse, about the kind of mindset it breeds, about someone reaching out and being there for you and the sweetness of having people who love you. It also kind of spirals downwards at one point in some very heavy angsg that is so so sad and tragic and absolutely stuffed with feels, BUT it has a happy ending and it's very lovely.

Summary
When he's seven years old, Sirius Black has a brief encounter with a strange boy in the woods, who, in their short exchange, teaches him an important lesson about the nature of the Universe, only to then disappear without a trace.
Nine years later, Sirius, along with his two best friends, is a student away at boarding school, with a brand new transfer student as his roommmate--a foul-mouthed, astronomy nerd named Remus Lupin.
Between school, hormones, relationships, and the fact that he is keeping a (magical) secret away from everyone--Sirius' year starts to go a little off the rails.
Not to mention, there's something familiar about that Remus Lupin kid that he just can't seem to shake...

Bookmarker's Notes
Ahhhhh! Loved this one to pieces! ❤️
So, at first glance, it is a muggle au: there is no wizards and hogwarts and flashy spells and all of that. However, magic IS real, but... it isn't quite the same: it's a lot more realistic and small and subtle, but it's very cool and the kind of theory and mechanics behind it is really interesting to read (and also is a real life philosophy, so there's that too). The magic isn't a tool, though. It's a private, personal, small thing and it's... it's really quite lovely, honestly.
This whole story is lovely!!! It's minimal angst, tho there is some pining but it's very cute and sweet crushes and and and I love it. The pacing feels good, it doesn't feel rushed, and the writing is amazing.
It's nothing complicated and it doesn't try to be complicated, but it also is a lot more complex than most fics, especially this length. But it works! Everything about it works! So lovely. ❤️

Written for the prompt: Harry has some kind of accident and can only speak in Parseltongue, which drives Snape mad with desire. Can be taken seriously or as crack, with Snape jumping Harry every time he says something.

Summary
Harry actually didn't mean to become a Dark Lord. It just sort of happened that way.
This series technically started with the one-shot "Charming When He Needs to Be," but Easy as Falling, Black Phoenix, and Burning Day are all finished prequels to it. Inspired by a request from sandersyager for Benevolently Snarky Dark Lord Harry.

...And secondly, don’t equate gender with genitals, Harry, they’re very different things...
Harmonie being woke is the most believable thing ever. If she were real and living in today's world she definitely would defend men in women's clothing can compete in women's sports.
"There is more than 2 sex RoN! Yes declared gender can and should be counted as facts HaRry!"..." Ron!” Hermione says, scandalised, though Harry’s not sure if she’s more outraged at the dick talk or at the idea of telling McGonagall that her protection spells are useless...
😆 LOLOLOL!!
...Sure, but once the initial shock had faded…”
“It hasn’t faded, Malfoy, I’m still pretty shocked!...
I love Draco in this fic. So real! His being annoyingly charming is better than the cowardly bastard that he described in books and movies. Makes more sense when you think about it And makes him more prone to redemption.
I like this fic. I usually don't read such fics with trans in it. But the writer makes it so that they are not trans. Draco and Harry are not feminine or girly. I love how they approach vigina with boyish interest not like " I wish I had one " kinda envy.
All in all a hetero sex with two men. Interesting concept and it works well. For a comedy piece, it made me laugh and horny. Brilliant writing on that part.
9/10 def rec.
