Then he remembers what he should actually be prioritizing at the moment and immediately turns his full attention to Superboy with an encouraging smile. “Um! So, anyway! Hi, I'm Captain Marvel, it's nice to meet you, Superboy. What's your name? Nobody in the League knew when I asked. I mean, if that's not rude, I don't know if you want Kid Flash and his parents to know it or if you're even ready to tell me yet, sorry, maybe I shouldn't actually have asked.”
“. . . uh,” Superboy says, looking even more bemused. “It’s Superboy.”
“. . . oh, okay, so we're just starting totally from scratch here, huh,” Billy realizes, repressing a little wince.
“Very much so, yes,” Mrs. West says, looking resigned.

Oddly enough, the man is surprised to see him, speaking a language he doesn’t understand to the people who took him in a back and forth argument that has Billy hopeful that he’ll be let go soon. The back and forth ends with the man taking a good look at him, the spark of an idea in his eyes dashing Billy's hopes as another word has him dragged away.
He’s told to fight for his life and loses, spared but left unable to leave as he’s made to be of any use capable of him to the young prince his life is now solely dependent on serving.
