Summary

After learning of Alma's abuse of her children, Julieta takes her family and leaves the family with Bruno. Outside of the strict expectations of Abuela Isabela's gift grows, creating new life, Luisa settles down with the love of her life, and Mirabel discovers that she has a gift as well.
Meanwhile, Alma Madrigal is losing control of not only her family but her village as well. She's determined to save them, and the only way forward is through Mirabel. She will do anything to get her back.

First, it had been an accidental meeting with Ozai when one of her colleagues tended to his daughter when she fell ill with the flu.
Then, it had been constant calls and texts at all hours and constant attempts to get into the hospital to see her again.
Then, expensive gifts kept coming to her office, all accompanied with a stylized O on an embossed card.
All that she could handle. She could block numbers and emails, send the gifts back or throw out the flowers, and have security ban him from returning. She could even have Agustín come with her as insurance he wouldn’t try anything.
But propositioning her in front of her family, trying to kiss and grope her in front of Mirabel?
He’d gone too far. He was going to meet her in a court of law, and he would pay.

Julieta and Agustín left the office as Mamá listened to how Luisa and Dolores were progressing in their classes, the principal's comments still ringing in their ears. He’d spent the entire hour talking about how Mirabel would never make it and she would need a lot of assistance, a sentiment he shared with Mamá.
They drove halfway home before Agustín parked the car. They shared an incredulous look, and Agustín said the only thing remotely close to acceptable for her.
“Our youngest daughter is not going to that school.”
“Where should she go, then?” Julieta asked, keen to hear her husband’s wonderful idea. Isabela and Luisa already enrolled there on Mamá’s insistence.
He smiled. “I think it’s time our remarkable daughter went to my alma mater.”
“I couldn’t agree more.”

When Julieta and Agustín fear Mirabel will face discrimination based on her medical diagnosis thanks to Alma's ignorance, they transfer her to Agustín’s alma mater. Julieta runs into the unlikeliest person: Ursa Shinawatra, formerly Ursula Shang, and her son Zuko. While they talk about their children’s prospects, Mirabel and Zuko start to become friends.
