But those aren’t too unpleasant, either. Your stardust, they're a funny thing. They carve wood at night while you chat or sit in silence. They cook for you, too, occasionally complaining when you don’t offer to help, but never pushing back much.
Sometimes, they will ask something like, “What are we going to do once we make it to the King?”
If you were kinder, maybe you would have told him to travel far away rather than dragging him here. But you are selfish. And stupid as it may be, after how many times you have failed, you have to take this - this chance that the universe gave you - if not to save your family, then to save their reflections.
