I recommend reading the work that inspired this story first. When I wrote it at the time, I wanted it to be like a sequel to it. The easiest way to explain this story is to explore the idea of what happens when evil wins.

As a way to appease him, the orphaned twenty-year-old is sold to the matriarch to act as a sacrifice to the leshy, also known as the "Monster of the Wood".
Until now, Rey thought he was only a legend, but she soon finds out how wrong she was.
As she gets caught up in his web, she wonders how she can be both afraid of and overwhelmingly attracted to such a beast. A monster who could kill her at any moment without breaking a sweat.
