Summary
Nanami Lucia is one of seven mermaid princesses. Forced to live on land among humans after her her home in the North Pacific is attacked by an unknown enemy, she has to find her lost pearl to have any chance of helping her people. In time, she meets more of the princesses and is reunited with her pearl. Now she and two other princesses, Hanon and Rina, need to find out how to summon Aqua Regina to bring peace back to the ocean. But will Lucia's growing feelings for Kaito get in the way of their mission? What if Aqua Regina was wrong to destroy an entire kingdom of people?

Summary
Years before the seven Mermaid Princesses sang to defeat Gaito, Prince of Panthalassa, their predecessors fought a similar battle against his father, the King of Panthalassa. One by one, they fall in battle and our beloved modern-day princesses are born to take their place. As tradition dictates, eventually the new princesses are to learn the circumstances surrounding the death of their predecessor and their subsequent birth. Traditions are a fickle thing, though, especially when the seven princesses are all born within eight years of each other.

I specify that I am a big fan of the Gaito-Sarah couple and therefore I slightly modified the words that the latter said in the episode.
The song found in the story is "Sweet Melody" which many of you are surely familiar with.

Meanwhile, Caren struggles with her loneliness stemming from growing up alone in the Antarctic; constantly wondering if she'll ever get to meet her sister and have friends. AU, based on some canon but with a lot more world building.
