    One sexually charged dinner later, he gets to do something about his wish to die with her knife at his throat.

    Enthralled from the first kiss he had forced her to endure, and without her consent, he poisoned her soul! Day by day, night by night, with each indignity he put her through the deeper into darkness, she would fall.

    Zigûr, he was known by the people of Númenor, but to Míriel he gave his true name. He wanted only her to call him by it as she went down on her knees.     In that case, Adar should repay the same after he sentenced most of Elendil's companions to death. Right? I guess that's how "gratitude" was shown. And after some time he was able to offer him even much more.
