Tear of the Prophet by hes5thlazarus for ToasterBonanza

Summary
Was prompted by ToasterBonanza to write about Kira Nerys repatriating an artifact sacred to Bajor from Cardassia, and this is what we got!
The Shakaar cell leads a procession after Cardassia returns the Orb of Contemplation to Bajor, to collective joy. Kai Opaka says, "So I say to you my people, the survivors of atrocity and keepers of the wormhole—the Prophets cried for you millennia before you were made. They sent their Tears from their temple as a safeguard as to what was to come. And now that it is safe, now that we have won—their Tears are for all."
Featuring Latha having an Orb experience, explaining why he became a vedek.

Summary
In season 5 episode 11, "The Darkness and the Light", a very pregnant Kira took off after a murderer who killed her friends and attacked her home. Why did Kira put the O'Brien's unborn child at such risk? What thought process could lead to such rash actions?
This story delves into my head cannon of Kira's childhood during the Occupation, and how it would affect her family relationships later in life.
This is my first fanfic so any feedback is appreciated.
M rating is for the subject matter of past child abuse, but there are no graphic details.

Summary
A pair of expressionless Cardassians were carrying her starved body across the camp. Kira could feel their scales through the fabric of their uniforms, could feel the hot breath on the back of her neck past her braided hair. She closed her eyes to avoid the stares of everyone else. Pity was apparent in their hollow features and glossy eyes as they watched yet another familiar face be taken.
[Or, three snapshots of Kira and the of cells. Can be read as either Gen or Slash, although there's literally nothing suggesting romance.]
