Summary
Jimmy and Carl are working at Johnny’s Bar while Boyd is in the back sorting through paperwork and plans after they robbed a bank the day before. The robbery went off smoothly with no evidence left behind, but Boyd knows its only a matter of time before someone from the Marshal's service comes knocking on his door, or rather the door of his bar. While Raylan Givens has met most of the members of Boyd’s crew, Deputy Marshal Tim Gutterson has not and since the Marshals have a slight interest in the bank robbery, and since it was short distance from Boyd's bar, someone will need to go talk to Boyd. Work continues on both sides and life goes on.

Summary
It was still a mystery to the U.S. Marshal Service what Cally might be looking for in Harlan of all places. Tim’s background check at least didn’t unearth any connections to Kentucky whatsoever. That’s why Raylan’s first stop here was the redecorated bar Boyd and Johnny had reclaimed for their purposes.

Summary
There is a short rustling and the subsequent mad dash of two bushy-tailed squirrels chasing each other across the clearing right in front of them. Boyd grins openly; it’s not too far fetched to envision the similarities in the relationship between the tiny rodents and theirs.

Boyd tells her, “Ava, I told Johnny already. I ain’t back. I’m not staying.”
“Well, Raylan doesn’t think so,” she replies jovially like they're playing some kind of game.

Summary
Johnny's life is not some tragic gay love story. That Raylan Givens has picked up with his cousin is no large, world-shaking event. He doesn't love Raylan that way, and all he feels for him is fear that Boyd is going to get them both caught.
There is no desperate end. Life moves on. No matter that Johnny is the one talking Raylan down from violence. No matter that Johnny has been playing baseball with Raylan from the start. No matter that goodbye hurts. No matter at all.

Summary
When Raylan nearly dies and *doesn’t* inform his boyfriend (and Dom), and then tries to hide it, he gets reminded that actions do have consequences.
“Colt.” Boyd commanded quietly and coolly, with a dark look on his face. Colt knew what he wanted and quickly made his way behind the bar, winding up next to Johnny who was polishing a glass while he flirted with Raylan, who was smiling at him, heedless of the line he had jumped over. Because his boy couldn’t be content to simply cross the line, Boyd thought, no, he had to instead either stay completely in bounds or just dance flagrantly across the line without a thought for the other people in his life.

Summary
Raylan Givens is born a girl and not much changes except how angry Arlo is. He didn’t want a girl, didn’t see the use in them since a girl couldn’t help him with anything and beats the hell out of Frances’ girl (because she isn’t his, not until he starts seeing a value in her. By then it’s too late and she only calls him Arlo and refuses to see him as a father.) Then she starts growing up pretty and he changes his tune
Boyd Crowder was hardly any older than Raylan Givens and they grew up running wild together, because Raylan always gets her temper from Arlo, and without her Mama around to guide her much, she never grows up very ladylike and with examples like Helen and Mags, she grows up strong and even more stubborn than Arlo.
She has an even bigger hatred of bullies (if that is possible) and a burning hatred for Arlo, especially since she *knows* he killed her mama. She’s colder after that, becoming even more selective in her words and who she talks to.
