Summary
When an experiment to improve the effectiveness of the Winter Soldier’s supersoldier serum is a little too successful, James regains his mind and his memories. After breaking free from HYDRA’s grasp, he finds the world is infested with HYDRA. Desperate for purpose, he puts the muzzle of the Winter Soldier back on to fight against his old tormentors from the shadows.
When New York is attacked by aliens, the masked Avengers assemble. Not knowing who this new superhero team truly works for, James tries to find out while still hunting HYDRA. It was supposed to be a well-deserved vacation. A chance to get away from his duties as Champion and to get out from under Rose’s watchful eye. A chance to spend some quality time with his longtime childhood friend/eternal rival. A chance for Leon to sort out long-repressed thoughts and feelings towards Raihan before Galar’s next gym challenge started. Unfortunately, a freak storm on their pleasure cruise to Sinnoh completely destroys Leon’s carefully laid plans.
Sometimes, it takes screaming from hilltops and running halfway across a region to realize how much you love someone.
AKA Raihan falls overboard and forgets who he is before being found by Ash and company. Leon fears the worst has happened and does questionable things as he searches for his missing rival. Charizard and Flygon are so done with both of their idiot trainers. Piers is ready to tear his hair out because his best friends are obviously in love with each other, but they’re both too stupid to admit it. Author also doesn’t know what British speak means. Inspired by the movie "Overboard".
