After being pushed to their limits physically and mentally, the trio finally accumulates enough points to earn their freedom. But this proves to be yet another ruse and their captivity merely takes a new form, more oppressive and invasive than ever. After having the rug continuously pulled out from under them, hope is at an all-time low.
The sudden appearance of Metal Sonic only adds further confusion. Is the robot simply another facilitator of their imprisonment, or could he be an unlikely ally? Who can they trust? Is escape even possible? Or will they give in to despair and accept their fate as a cog in the machine of an uncaring society, doomed to eternal exploitation?

When life is thrown into disarray by one's own actions, and when the consequences are both psychologically and physically devastating, the mobian will sooner, or later face a choice that will give him the opportunity to add colors into his gray everyday life, or burn everything to the ground along with himself. This is not a story about heroes saving others. This is not a story about one's attempts to correct or heal someone. Instead, it's a story about the weight of the past's sins and the fear of an uncertain future.
A side-story to the main work "Sonic Underground: Only Better" (for now, available only in Ukrainian), which takes place before the events of the main plot. It is also a heavy work in progress, since the original work I'm translating is also not finished. I wanted to give the opportunity for English speaking sonic fans to enjoy this writing journey with me.
