Summary
Newt Scamander had not intended to return to New York, much less the Woolworth building.
Nevertheless, he arrived on the second of May, bedraggled and soaking from the spring rains with his arm trapped in a junior auror's grip, and just in time to make himself useful.
Percival Graves has survived Grindelwald, with the scars to show for it, and returned to his role as Director of Magical Security despite a newly developed difficulty in speaking aloud.
When Theseus Scamander’s younger brother gets dragged into the bullpen at precisely the right moment to be helpful, Graves seizes the opportunity to bring in a magizoologist for a sorely needed fledgling Beasts division, and a battle-tested asset into the MACUSA fold.
Perhaps he should have expected chaos to follow in the path of a dragon rider.

“Hmm?” Newt blinked. “Oh, I can’t usually, but I had a feeling we were going to be filling out parchment work so I brought my own quill and ink for it.” The way the magizoologist said that so casually, as though it was perfectly reasonable to have come prepared for filling out obnoxious quantities of parchment-work which, yes they had both been prepared for that but the fact that Scamander seemed to consider his actions to not be something worth even commenting on—
Honestly, how was Percy supposed to cope with this man?

~Death should be the end of life. This is natural order, that's how it should work. But sometimes, sometimes Death have other ideas~
Percival Graves died as he lived: strong, painfully, insolently and with lots of fire (and with chronic depression, but it wasn't important, not like he even known he had it). It should be end.
Harry Potter always was a bit different. Nothing to worry about, being different from Dursley's was a good thing. But turned out wizards don't know things they never learned, they don't use strange spells and they definitely don't have inborn inability to deal with idiots (mostly, for sure there was someone, who lost patience at some point)
Unfortunately for Voldemort (and Dumbledore, let us not forget about this meddling old man) serving a concussion and tortures to an old soul isn't a great idea. It could, for example, make them remember their previous life. And now you have this person, powerful, experienced and pissed off war and politics weteran who is teenager now and have personal vandetta. Not best idea for Dark Lord. -

“YOU HAVE WHAT?” The ginger yelled at him, “No! He is far too young for any of that, still a child. You will have no intentions at all. You will be saying no more than a thank you to he and his dragon for saving you.” After huffing at him Theseus stormed out of the infirmary tent, towards where his precious younger brother was grooming Victoria like she was a golden retriever instead of a giant Ukrainian Ironbelly.

The first time he woke and took full stock of his new circumstance, Graves spent the rest of the day wondering if he should just drown himself out of spite. He assumed Grindelwald had wanted to keep him alive - which was why he was still breathing - and presumably had some further use for him - which was why he was squirreled away on some undiscovered equatorial island, like a dragot in a bank. Graves could very well ruin any further plans Grindelwald had for him by simply removing himself from them permanently.
After three days of coconut water and shellfish and crab, though, he decided his spite had grown too big to be satisfied with just ruining some possibly minor plotline. He wanted to personally be there at the dark wizard’s downfall and spit in the man’s mismatched eyes.
