"That is my true name, and... you may call me that. You should call me that. We'll all get used to it soon enough."
Junah pouted. "Love," she started, but Basilio beat her to the punch.
"Mate, if it's gonna put that face on you, I don't ever want to call you that. I've seen you less sour covered in monster guts."

SPOILERS for late game in Summary and fic !! Proceed with caution !
Will is some sort of magla-borne projection, a made-up construct, and as he distraughtly calls himself, “nothing”. It's when he is in the process of changing, that it comes to light.
To the assembled company, it is as strange as it is shocking, but to the nidia in the party, it’s… close to home.Or : Junah and Will have strangely similar circumstances, all things considered.

Summary
Will hands him a document. Signed and dated yesterday: Louis Charadrius is hereby appointed a royal doctor under His Majesty the King of Euchronia, and will hereafter carry out every duty given to him for the benefit of the kingdom and its citizens.
Will brings a new healer to the palace a year into his reign without really thinking the consequences through, and Louis is forced to reckon with a past— and prince— he tried to forget.

Summary
“Strohl.... Do you trust me?”
“With every fiber of my being,” Strohl replied all too quickly. He felt his face flush a bit. He cleared his throat a bit to ease his nerves. “Why do you ask?”
“I think I may have an idea that could... help. Can you close your eyes?”
It's only been a few days since they left the Eldan Sanctum, and to say Strohl was struggling with the recent changes... Well, that would be putting it mildly. He desperately wants to get past this hang-up, and Will wants to bridge the gap that's formed between them. Thankfully, Will has always been a creative problem solver - and although Strohl doesn't know it, this may solve two of his problems at once.

Summary
In June, Will is “rescued” from Euchronia and thrust into the utopian world of his book without his consent. Here, he discovers both a silver lining and a misfortune: he’s been joined in his transmigration not only by Strohl and Hulkenberg, but by Louis as well.
Louis is overjoyed by this turn of events. The other three are… well, less than pleased to be trapped in a foreign land with their mortal enemy.
But in a crisis, there isn’t always the luxury of choosing who your partners will be. This group of four must (begrudgingly) build trust among themselves — and perhaps new bonds will even blossom.

Summary
Louis watches him with great interest, his smoldering gaze mirroring the same expression he had given Will yesterday. It only now occurs to Will that Louis likely wants much more than the chaste kisses he had envisioned placating him with; the sun has completely disappeared under the horizon and dim light casts long shadows across Louis’ form, who looks as though he wants to absolutely devour him.
In which Will decides to take matters of saving the prince into his own hands by flirting with the enemy, and in return gets more enthusiasm than he anticipated. Louis has taken a shine to him and Will must navigate their transactional relationship while also plotting to bring about his demise.

Summary
“Four?"
Will fails, utterly, at keeping the dismay out of his voice. Fortunately, he isn't the only one upset at the innkeeper's bored drone of an answer.
“Four rooms, four beds. You lot do realize it's just past the height of the tournament, don'tcha? I've been booked up for weeks. You're lucky I've got anything available right now.”
Will drifts back to where his blood-covered coterie waits, faces pinched and unhappy at the news. The dilemma is pretty cut and dry; they don't have a ton of options here.
They'll just... have to share. For better or for worse.

Summary
Altabury Heights is a cold, icy city to be in, especially for those who are already susceptible to the frost. Any chance at heat is a chance worth taking, even if it means sleeping in three layers of clothes. Even if it means risking revealing just a little bit too much about onself.

Summary
Alone again, with the pancakes not due to flip for another minute or so going by the lack of bubbles on the pale doughy surfaces, Will takes a deep breath and presses the backs of his knuckles into his eyes with a groan.
He tells himself sternly to knock it off, because there's certainly no point in it.
It's one matter to stand against the world as a person more hated than just about anything and to have comrades defend your honor and right to exist. It's another matter entirely, Will thinks, to imagine that he can… partake, in that same society, in all the same ways everyone else can.
In which Will has some hangups about what is tacitly forbidden to him by virtue of being an elda amidst a nation that would prefer to see him dead. Along the way to untangling that complicated knot of internalized taboo, Basilio fights his own old long-standing battles. Together, perhaps, the impasses holding them both down might be broken.
