Intersex people are fully affected by the idea of "only male and female allowed" laws. Intersex people are affected by anti trans laws even if not all of us are trans. Many of us can't pass or hide our features, similar to how some trans people can't. We (the systems body) for example are physically incapable of passing as "cis" unless we get surgeries and hormones which still wouldn't change the fact we're intersex. We can't blend in, we get clocked as "queer looking" no matter what we wear or how we act. Don't forget about us when making posts about protecting trans and queer people. - ❔️

the thing is, a lot of intersex people aren't told that they're intersex in that wording when they're made aware of their condition/s. iwas not told the i word, i was told hyperandrogenism, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and other diagnoses, but not that i was intersex. i didn't know what that meant for years. i didn't know why i struggled to fit into mens or womens clothing comfortable because of my "mixed" features.
i didn't find the intersex community until i was in my late 20s. a lot of us arent even told our diagnoses. a lot of us spend our whole lives not knowing we're intersex. some people never get their conditions checked out or acknowledged. others spend their whole life knowing, but not knowing theres a community out there. the reason the intersex community is so small is because we're not being told we're intersex. we're being told diagnoses or being gatekept, but not being told that there is a word for not having binary biological sex features and that there are other people like you. you're made to feel weird and isolated. it's very rare if not impossible to find providers who will speak the "i" word, and when they do, you usually don't have an easy time.
And the isolation isn't accidental medical speak, it's deliberate, I know a woman who was told by her doctor "Your condition is so rare, you will likely never meet another person with this condition". That doctor was treating 16 women with the same condition in the same city at that same time.
