Nicholas Vaux, 1st Baron Vaux of Harrowden was born circa 1460.2 He was the son of Sir William Vaux and Katherine Peniston.2 He married, firstly, Elizabeth FitzHugh, daughter of Henry FitzHugh, 5th Lord FitzHugh and Alice Neville.3 He married, secondly, Anne Greene, daughter of Sir Thomas Greene and Joan Fogge, from 17 November 1507 to 29 January 1508/9.4 He died on 14 May 1523.5
He was educated at Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 In November 1485 he procured the nullification of his father's attainder on King Henry VII's coming to the throne, also restoration of his estates.1 He was Steward of Olney and Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire in November 1485.1 He fought in the Battle of Stoke in 1487.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Northamptonshire from 1495 to 1496.1 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) in 1497.1 He was Knight for the Body to King Henry VII and King Henry VIII.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Northamptonshire from 1501 to 1502.1 He held the office of Constable of Rockingham Castle in 1502.1 He was Lieutenant of Guisnes Castle in English-held Picardy in 1502.1 He was Lieutenant of Guisnes Castle in English-held Picardy in 1509.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Northamptonshire from 1516 to 1517.1 He was created 1st Baron Vaux of Harrowden, co.
