3 New iGaming Operators to Join Swedish Online Market

3 New iGaming Operators to Join Swedish Online Market3 New iGaming Operators to Join Swedish Online Market

The newly regulated Swedish online gambling market was officially opened a little over a month ago, but already has 66 licensed operators…

…and three more are about to join the club.

Swedish Gambling Authority, or Spelinspektionen, issued three new licenses to Bell Casino, FT Diva Casino, and Premiergaming.

Almost 70 New Operators

With three new companies joining the Swedish market, this country will have 69 licensed operators in total…

…which is quite an expansion since the market has been up and running for only a month.

Premiergaming is a Malta-based company that will from now have the permission to offer online gambling and betting services on eight different websites like Prontocasino.com, Premierlivecasino.com, and Prontobingo.com among others.

FT Diva Casino has obtained a license to operate with land-based casino games, while the Bell Casino is licensed to offer ship-based gaming services.

Sweden to Ban Gambling Ads

According to a Swedish Minister of Civil Affairs, Ardalan Shekarabi…

…Sweden might become another country that will ban gambling ads during broadcasts of live sports events.

The same thing happened in the UK when gambling operators banned ads voluntarily, while Danske Spil’s director suggested the same to the Danish government.

The Minister highlighted that Sweden wants to follow in the footsteps of other nations that did the same and “let viewers watch the match in peace.” Limiting the number of ads during live broadcast can potentially minimize gambling harms and the spreading of gambling addictions.

Minister Shekarabi said that Swedes were very “tired of the extremely aggressive marketing and the unrestrained advertising.” According to him, newly licensed operators “have a huge responsibility and must ensure that they live up to the requirements and intentions” of the newly issued Swedish gambling laws.

Swedes Against Online Gambling

Recent evaluations showed that a very large number of Swedes is against gambling…

…where only 25% of the nation is being open for this type of gambling.

Also, the country is giving the self-exclusion opportunity to every citizen who wishes not to participate in gambling, and up until now, around 10.000 people had chosen to sign up for the exclusion.

The Official Warning

Just recently, the Swedish Gambling Regulator or Spelinspektionen, issued an official and final warning to all the iGaming operators that if they don’t obey the conditions regarding self-excluding…

…not only will they suffer financial consequences, but they will also be put at risk of completely losing their license.

The country also issued a statement that they won’t be issuing temporary licenses to online gambling operators, so there won’t be a trial period for anyone. If the operator doesn’t get the license, then that is the final decision.
