Definition degree of camparison
Degree of comparison is used as word for comparison
between Objects . It can be an adjectives or adverb. the
easiest way to find out the form of sentences that use degrees
of comparison is whit the keywords :
• More,
• Less,
• The most,
• And others.
of course,we have to know in advance what sentences are
suitable to use the phrase in the form degrees of comparison
examples of comparison degree
There are three types of comparison degree that we can use to expresses
comparison degree in english, including positive degree , comparative degree,
and superlative degree .

• Positive degree
Positive degree is a simple form degree of comparison because
There is no comparison in it. this positive degree only states something with the same comparison, so
we can use the phrase “as……as” to complate the sentence.

Comparative degree

Comparative degree is used to compare two things in


one sentence. Generally, when using a comparative
degree , it is necessary to ad the er or ier ending . For
example , in the word angry, you can change it to angry.

Comparative degree as an adverb can also be added the


word more before adjectives such as more angry , more
happily , and so on.

Superlative degree
• Superlative degree is used to compare three or more
things in one sentence. If in Indonesian we often use
the word “most”, then in this superlative degree the
phrase used “most” or changing the ending from
adjective to –est, such as happy become happiest.

• Sandy is the smartest student in my school
(Sandy adalah murid yang paling pintar disekolah ku)
• Among the three basketball players, Beni is the most
handsome man!
(Diantara 3 basket itu Beni pria yang paling tampan)
