    Her parents are actress Maggie Baird and actor Patrick O'Connell. Both of her parents are also musicians and work on her father's tours.

    She began working on songs with her brother Finneas in 2015. Their early songs like 'Ocean Eyes' and 'Fingers Crossed' gained attention after being released on SoundCloud. She gained a record deal with Interscope subsidiary Darkroom.
