Objectives

To introduce you to the New Technology of

Decklite Working Platforms

To provide Safer Access for all Personnel

To provide Training to Multi Skill Personnel

To provide a safe alternative to conventional

access methods

To provide a commercial advantage for the Client

Introduction

DECKLITE IS A STRUCTURALLY ENGINEERED PLATFORM TO PROVIDE SAFE ACCESS

• A modular decking system to provide fast access to hard-to-reach areas.
• A safe alternative for clients worker, easy & safe to deploy thereby reducing
risk exposure (erection manhours) and increasing efficiency.
• Can be deployed where conventional scaffold is impracticable or too costly.
• Much reduced manpower, deck space, weight & storage compared to
scaffold.
• Direct access to the work zone with no build-up or down.
• Provides safe housing for dropped objects (DROPS) and minimal fallout.
• A safe system that withstands high winds & wave piercing situations in long,
or short term and extreme weather conditions.
• Hence offers the same safe access for the maintenance crews as traditional
scaffolding.

Challenge Session with Technical Authority and Field Engineer was conducted on : 15th
May 2013
Applications

Decklite Working Platform is a rigging deck module system to provide access

and/or maintenance of offshore oil platforms and the like as well as other
structures such as buildings and bridges.
• Below cellar decks of offshore platforms
• Heli-decks undersides, jack-up undersides, semi-submersible
undersides
• Platform jackets, drill derricks, bridge work applications
• Communication towers
• Inside tanks of FPSO’s and tankers, inside onshore storage tanks
• Under roofing
• Below production decks of offshore platforms
• Above a work force to prevent the risk of falling objects, as fall
protection below a work area.
Benefits of Decklite

 Takes less time and fewer people to erect.

 Reduce man power by a factor of 50%. Less Risk Exposure.

 Access directly to the working area with no build-up or down.

 Decklite will reduce manpower and floating resource costs.

 Short turnaround time of shutdowns.

 Decklite can also be used while Plant is operational.

 Soft Fall characteristics.

 Drop Object & Safe Splash Zone.

Implementation & Evidence

Decklite™ Implementation Report

1. Site specific surveys and design of support arrangements: Decklite is a

Modular System and can be installed in most areas immediately.
2. Awareness training of Maintenance Crew: Decklite provides in house
Training & Education.
3. Deployment of Decklite by small dedicated crew: Utilize the Trained
Client Contractors to work Together Towards New Technology.
4. Execution of Maintenance Tasks by Trained Crew: A multi skilled
access and maintenance team to complete the works quickly and
efficiently.
5. Demob of Decklite: 210 square meters of Decklite (1 modular kit) can
be deployed in 2 standard Barrung Boxes.
