2nd Grade Lesson Plan 2.

1. Goal: To practice so, mi, la; practice ta and ti ti

2. Objectives: SWBAT
 ID beat vs. rhythm
 ID/read/perform ta and ti ti in songs and patterns
 ID notes as being high or low
 ID a song by its rhythm

3. Materials: Rhythm Cards

4. Procedure

1. Hello’s (slsm)

2. Rhythm Card activity


 Play song and echo ta and ti ti cards

3. Rain Rain
 T. sings and intros song
 Echo with beat
 Review s m l hand signs (show la for classes that haven’t learned)
 Echo phrases with hand signs
 Decode solfege on staff together at board
 Sing with solfa and hand signs
 Sing with words and hand signs

4. Bell Horses
 T. intro song and asks questions
 Students echo with beat
 Echo with rhythm tappers
 Echo with solfa and hand signs
 Sing whole song as a class

5. On a Log
 T. sings solfa and uses hand signs
 Students guess which song it was
 Students sing words and hand signs

6. Dance Break
 Listen and Move (SE & HP)/Ram Sam Sam (LG)
7. Goodbyes
5. Informal/Formal Assessment: Informal assessment of high/low hand singing
6. Homework: None
