    PROMOTING THE VISION: By the Year 2020 more visitors will be attracted to The Bahamas by Bahamian Art,
    Culture and Heritage than by merely sun, sand and sea.

    LIVING ON THE HALLELUJAH SIDE, the multi-media exhibition by Dwight Laaden Ferguson, opened to an enthusiastic
    audience in October and has since been visited by many others who were treated to personal tours by the artist who has
    been thrilled to welcome over 200 students to the gallery to explain his work and to share his enthusiasm for the music of the
    world famous Bahamian folk guitarist, Joseph Spence! The artist was also invited to bring his artwork to a Q.C. class for dis-
    cussion! Thank you to the teachers and students who visited! The exhibition will remain on display until November 25.

    The City of Nassau was featured once again at the


    CN RADIO continues the dialogue on the importance of Education and Jingdezhen International Ceramics Fair in China
    Literacy with guests: 13 year old author, Sierra Blair, Neko Meicholas, and from October 17 - 21. Jingdezhen is a sister city in
    Dr Jonathan Rodgers who spoke about the 12th annual Anatol Rodgers the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) and
    Memorial Lecture which featured Poet Laureate, Sonia Sanchez! the booth was once again curated by Bahamian
    ceramic artist, Alistair D. Stevenson who is studying
    towards a degree in ceramics there.
    Stevenson presented a series of over 20 porcelain
    sculptures examining The Fragility of Life as a con-
    tinuing theme in his Fragility series which was on
    display this summer at Doongalik Studios. He also
    invited Japanese sculptor, Hidemi Tokutake, to be a
    guest artist in the display.
    The Creative Nassau booth won the attention of
    many visitors to the ceramics fair, and was the focus
    of television, newspaper and magazine journalists of
    Jiangxi Province. The booth also had the honour of
    being visited by the City of Jingdezhens Mayor,
    Mrs. Yi Mei, to whom Stevenson presented one of
    his works as an expression of gratitude for the op-
    portunity to represent The Bahamas at the exposi-
    tion.
