Global Talent Program - Exchange Participant Statement of Understanding

STATEMENT OF UNDERSTANDING
1. ABOUT AIESEC
AIESEC is a global, non-political, independent, not-for-profit organization run by students and recent
graduates of institutions of higher education. AIESEC Internationally has been facilitating youth
leadership activities through international internships & volunteer experiences for over 65 years around
the world. Thanks to AIESEC you can create impact all over the world and discover new cultures by
joining The Global Citizen Program. This Program is an opportunity available all year long for youth to
develop entrepreneurial and leadership by creating direct positive impact through a 6 weeks international
volunteer experience.

2. AIM OF THE PROGRAM


The aim of the Global Talent Program is to provide the Exchange Participant (EP) with the opportunity to
activate Leadership, make positive impact, develop the communication in English, interact with people
from different nationalities and contribute to personal and professional goals. This program as stated
develops responsible and entrepreneurial leadership through international professional experiences.

AIESEC Roles and Responsibilities


1. Responsibilities of the Exchange Participant
Complete and enter their Exchange Participant (EP) Profile on Internships.aiesec.org.
The student should be flexible to increase his/her chances in finding a suitable internship.
Have written proof of the academic background and working experience specified on the EP Profile.
Must attend Outgoing Preparation Seminar (OPS) and complete the preparation requirements of the
country/territory of choice.
Incur all expenses related to transportation to the host country and territory.
Maintain communication with the Sending & Hosting Local Committees throughout the traineeship.
Must complete and submit the surveys sent to him/her and a report at the end of the traineeship.
Integrate himself/herself in the Local Committee activities in the home and host country and
territory.
Inform the Local Committee if he/she becomes unavailable for a traineeship, or if he/she is looking
into other opportunities.
Leave contact information with the Local Committees so that an AIESEC representative can contact
him/her when a match occurs.
Re-evaluate the options specified on his/her forms if he/she has not been matched after several
attempts.
Ensure that he/she is acquiring adequate insurance, visa, medical certifications, working & residence
permits, and flight arrangements for the traineeship.
Have enough money to cover his/her living expenses for the duration of the traineeship.
Ensure that he/she has a return ticket to his/her home country.
Prepare to give presentations about his/her country and culture to company/organization
employees, AIESEC members, and other audiences.
Respect the starting and ending date of the internship
Take a proactive and independent role in getting involved in the community.
Give input to the host local Committees about future traineeship opportunities with the company or
organization he/she is working for to provide similar opportunities to other students in the future.
Give AIESEC feedback about the traineeship experience and how could it be improved in the future.

2. Responsibilities of the Home (Sending) Local Committee


Assist EP in filling in his/her EP profile and adding it on internships.aiesec.org.
Assist EP in finding a match on internships.aiesec.org.
Inform and advise the EP about other available traineeships and support EP in determining other
options.
Provide necessary support to the EP to send official Acceptance Notes when needed.
Organize and deliver an Outgoing Preparation Seminar (OPS) with all its objectives to the Exchange
Participants, including expectation setting and cultural preparation.
Maintain communication with the EP throughout the duration of the traineeship.

3. Responsibilities of the hosting Local Committee


Provide all the necessary information to the incoming trainee about visa, insurance, work permit and
all other legal requirements.
Pick up the trainee from the airport/railway station on the day of his/her arrival.
Provide adequate reception as stated in the Quality Standards.
Give the trainee advice and access to AIESEC network when organizing cultural nights, sight-seeing
trips or other social events.
Facilitate the first steps in community involvement and related activities.
Inform the trainee of any special local laws in the country
Inform the trainee of the social dos and do nots in the country.
Give initial assistance in establishing and orienting the trainee upon arrival for his/her traineeship
(accommodation, bank account, first day at work, local transportation, grocery shopping, etc.).
Provide assistance and support to the trainee when he/she has problems with the
company/organization or any other aspect of his/her traineeship.

4. Responsibilities of the company/organization


Provide a detailed job description.
Provide adequate working conditions, orientation, guidance, training, etc. for the intern to achieve
the objectives agreed upon.
Give the intern feedback on his/her performance during and after the traineeship to enable the
intern to learn and improve through the experience.

Exchange Policies
1. Pre-Match Policies
1.1 The official communication channel between the Exchange participant and AIESEC is Email and
Facebook.
1.2 EPs are required to sign a contract before they leave which mentions all the roles and responsibilities of
the parties involved as well as a breakdown of the participation fees.
1.3 EPs applying to participate in AIESEC traineeship Exchanges shall submit the required documentation and
pay the necessary fees of 1000 DH to the Home Local Committee.
1.4 EPs need to be Flexible to increase their chances in finding a suitable internship.
1.5 The student has a period of 3 months to find an offer. Beyond this period, he must prove his desire to
continue his research for an internship. In the absence of justification, the application will be removed from
the database.

2. Match Policies
2.1 If the Exchange Participant (EP) break the match after Accepting the project and being Matched in The
system, this student will no longer be allowed to search for an internship through AIESEC and his/her EP
profile will be put on Hold.
2.2 A potential match can only be rejected under a written proof of the following circumstances:
Severe Health Issues
Urgent Family Circumstances
Unexpected events related to studies
Visa issues
Country and territory at war or countries and territories that will pose risk or danger to the trainee.
2.2 After an EP is matched, he needs to finalize his Match on internships.aiesec.org and pay 1500 DH to the
Home Local Committee.

3. Post Match Policies


3.1 Attendance in the Outgoing Preparation Seminar (OPS) organized by the Member or Local Committee is a
must for all EPs wishing to participate in the program. The Member Committee and the Local Committee
have the right to reject an EP Profile if the EP fails to attend any preparation events
3.2 The EP shall ensure valid official documents for legal entry and work in the host country (visas, work
permits, valid passport, medical and health insurance, etc) before the EP leaves for his/her traineeship.
3.3 The Exchange Participant should provide Multimedia showcasing material (Photos and videos taken
during the internship) to Home Local Committee with upon returning from his/her internship
3.4 AIESEC provides an invitation letter to support the visa application but its not help responsible in case of
the rejection.

4. Payment Policies
4.1 The Exchange Participation fees are 2500 DH, the breakdown of the fees is to go as follows:
Participation in the Outgoing Preparation Seminar that is organized by the Home Local Committee
for the Exchange Participants
Access to AIESEC database
Assistance while looking for internships
The support in the country of destination
Access to AIESEC networks namely the opportunity to meet students from other countries, and
participate in events and conferences
Monitoring during the course, and intervention in cases of work-related problems
The possibility of reintegration in the local office in Morocco
4.2 Fees are not refundable.

5. Contract
I, ______________________ understand and agree with the Statement of Understanding, Roles &
Responsibilities and Exchange Policies above and confirm that all information relating to work experience,
academic backgrounds, language proficiency levels or any other information stated on my Student Resume
and Exchange Participant Contract is valid and correct.

I hereby confirm my acceptance to the refund policy. This contract is valid for a total period of 14 months
starting from the date of its signing.

AIESEC in Morocco reserves the right to cancel this contract if at any given time it is proven that any
information provided by the Exchange Participant is different from the truth or the Exchange Participant
violated any of the terms stated above.

Kindly note that:

Participation fees do not cover flights, insurance, visas, accommodation or any other travel or work
related expenses incurred by the student to go on and participate in an AIESEC exchange.
Participating in the Outgoing Preparation Seminar (OPS) is Obligatory
