Epiroc Scholarship Award

Introduction of Epiroc:

Epiroc Mining India Pvt. Ltd. (formerly known as Epiroc Mining India Limited) is a vital
part of a sustainable society and a global productivity partner for mining and
infrastructure customers. We develop and provide innovative and safe equipment, such
as drill rigs, rock excavation, and construction equipment and tools for surface and
underground applications. We also offer world-class service and other aftermarket
support as well as solutions for automation, digitalization, and electrification. Epiroc
HQ is based in Stockholm, Sweden, and has more than 15500+ passionate employees
supporting and collaborating with customers in more than 150 countries. In India,
Epiroc HO is in Pune and has 8 Reginal centres across India. Epiroc India has 2
production units, one at Nashik and one at Hyderabad, and one Technical Centre is in
Bangalore.

Introduction of Epiroc Vidya Sahayog Program:

Epiroc Vidya Sahayog Program is a CSR initiative of Epiroc, that focuses on education.
This program aims to provide financial assistance to the socially and economically
weaker section of students in the form of a scholarship, developing
school/institute/hostel infrastructure for a better learning environment, and providing
any other education-related facility.

Introduction of Epiroc Scholarship Award:


- Epiroc Scholarship Award is a CSR initiative of Epiroc under the Epiroc Vidya
Sahayog Program (Education). We run this program all over India every year.
- Under this initiative scholarships are provided to the needy & underprivileged
students for taking higher education based on their merit, academic
performance, and financial condition.
- The program motto is not only to give money in the form of scholarships but
also to guide the students as mentors in their carrier goals.
- Scholarship is directly distributed through Epiroc Charitable Foundation to the
students.
- Students will get a scholarship of Rs. 25,000/- per year, throughout their
education subject to the performance of the student.
- This scholarship is purely used for academic fees / Hostel fees & education
purposes only.

General Rules & Processes to run this program at a given location:


1) We provide this scholarship mainly to Diploma/Engineering students from
different colleges / NGOs / Institutes in different streams.
2) The College / NGO / Institute needs to give the best coordination and support
to run this activity.
3) Epiroc Production Company (PC) or Customer Centres (CC) will allocate no of
students to selected College / NGO / Institutes as decided by GM/RM/HR from
their quota.
4) The College / NGO / Institute must form a minimum 3-member committee from
professors/lecturers/ admin etc. as the College / NGO / Institute Scrutiny
Committee.
5) Epiroc CSRO will give training/information to the College / NGO / Institute
coordinator & scrutiny committee for student selection, Scrutiny & all process
information, etc.
6) We will provide proper guidance, training, and selection details to the College /
NGO / Institute Scrutiny committee before the selection of students. (One
common meeting will take for the same.)
7) The College / NGO / Institute Scrutiny Committee will scrutinize the application
form and send the list of selected students before the timeline to the respective
PC/CC & CSRO on their letterhead with details.
8) The College / NGO / Institute will provide the final selected student list on their
letterhead along with the waiting list (Equal no of the allocated quota). If any
final student is rejected at the time of the interview, then the next student will
be picked up from the waiting list sequentially.
9) Any 2 members from the Epiroc CSR Team at each location & CSRO will conduct
short interviews of selected students to verify the details and genuineness of
students.
10) If any student is found not suitable to provide the scholarship by Epiroc CSR
Team, then the team has the right to reject that student and take another student
from the College / NGO / Institute waiting list.
11) A detailed online Google form will be provided to the students to gather the
information for our records. The hard copy of the detailed document needs to
be submitted to the college & maintained in the college record.
12) The scrutiny cum assessment form will be provided to the College / NGO /
Institute committee for the assessment of students. After student Scrutiny by the
committee, the scanned copy of this form will be submitted to the PC/CC &
CSRO by the College / NGO / Institute Scrutiny committee.
13) Epiroc reserves the right to cancel the scholarship program at any stage, also
Epiroc reserves the right to cancel the College / NGO / Institute or any selected
student at any stage or reduce/increase the no of students allocated to the
College / NGO / Institute.

Student Criteria for Epiroc Scholarship Award:


1) Students should be needy and genuine.
2) Student who doesn’t have a Parent or Single Parents or orphans or needy
students from a rural area/urban slum area (If both parents are present)
3) Those students’ parents work as laborers, farmworkers, drivers, small shops,
farmer (Land less than 2 acres), etc., etc.
4) Needy & underprivileged students with good academic & extra-curricular
backgrounds.
5) Students from poor financial backgrounds & family annual Incomes less than Rs.
1,50,000 (Some + - will be considered for genuine students)
6) No caste, Religion, or gender bias (Anyone can apply to this scholarship)
7) Students’ information form & selection process will be explained to Colleges /
NGOs / Institutes in the meeting.

Student Mentorship Program:


1) One selected student will be allocated to one employee. So, he/she can mentor
that student. Also, guides students in their careers.
2) Student has a responsibility to report their career progress to the given mentor,
so this will be a good impact of the scholarship project. Also, employee-student
engagement and satisfaction are there.
3) Students need to make the repo & contact the mentor for a minimum of 5 times
in the year.
4) If possible & fit into the schedule, Epiroc Expert will provide training to the
students on different fields and actual work processes like safety training, HR
training, technical training, etc.
5) If possible & fit into the schedule, we will arrange a visit for students to the
factory/office premises to see the process of actual factory culture and office.
6) At the end of the year one simple assessment form will be given to the Mentor
for recommendation and assessment of the student’s progress. This will help us
in determining the student’s merit for next year while giving the scholarship.
7) If the student fails to contact the mentor & not sincere for the following rules &
regulations given by the team then that student will be removed from the next
year's process.

Documents Required from Students:

- Compulsory:
1) passport Size Photo
2) Handwritten Application by student: The student should write a one-page
handwritten application mentioning the following points:1) students
background 2) Why you need this scholarship 3) How you will utilize this 4)
Other points if any. Write this letter: To, President/MD/GM/Trustee/CSRO,
Epiroc
3) College / NGO / Institute Admission Fee Receipt
4) 10th / SSC Marksheet
5) 12 th / HSC certificate/Diploma Marksheet
6) Diploma/Degree Marksheet (Previous Academic Year)
7) Income Certificate (Orphanage Certificate in case of an orphan)
8) House Last Month Light Bill (If not available, then Orphanage Certificate or
rented house light bill or Homeless certificate from Panchayat)
9) Your family picture outside your home. (Orphan students can attach a pic of
stay home or hostel etc. where they live)

- Optional (But Necessary):


1) Ration Card
2) Orphan Certificate (If applicable)
3) Father's/ Mother's death certificate (if applicable)
4) Land ownership document (7/12 or other) – (If applicable)
5) Landless document - (If applicable)
