2. Run the batch file by double clicking on it with your left mouse button. A DOS window will open up
and the program will create additional options in your Vehicle Registry. Choose a NO RESET option
to prevent clearing trip data upon extraction.
3. Once this operation is complete you are ready to set up the vehicle you wish to extract without clearing
the trip data. You will need to follow this procedure for each vehicle that you want to extract without
clearing the trip data:
4. When you select the Vehicle Registry the screen below will appear. If you have extracted from this
vehicle before, double click with your left mouse button on the vehicle you wish to modify in the
Vehicle ID column and youll be taken to the Vehicle Details screen (move directly to step 7). If
you have never extracted data from the vehicle before, you will need to set up the vehicle in the vehicle
registry. Click on the truck / plus sign icon and you will be prompted to enter the vehicle ID.
5. Enter the ID. (If you want to check for an existing Vehicle ID, you can retrieve the calibration in DDDL
and check the "Vehicle Unit Number" on tab 1 prior to beginning this process.) Click on OK.
6. You will see a screen asking you to identify the devices you will be extracting from on this vehicle.
Typically this will be a DDEC ECM. When you have filled in the correct device(s) click on OK in the
Add Device box. The Vehicle Details screen for the vehicle you have just set up will appear.
7. The section of the Vehicle Details screen of interest is the section called Dataset Definition File. You
will notice that when the screen first appears the section is grayed out or inactive.
To allow changing the default entry in the Dataset Definition section, click once on the Edit box with
the left mouse button. The Dataset Definition drop-down box can now be modified. Click once on the
downward pointing arrow on the right of the Dataset Definition box. A list of available selections will
appear. Generally, you should only select an option with trip in the title.
8. Once you have selected the proper Dataset Definition file, the screen should appear like this:
To complete the process, click once on the Apply box. Then click on OK to save the changes. You
will now be able to extract from this vehicle without resetting the trip data.
