Hi Everyone,
Well, wasnt the performance amazing? Accolades have flooded in over the past week - I have never seen our students happier! It was a team effort but there are so many to thank. Firstly - our staff for being so committed and determined to making sure every child had the opportunity to shine brilliantly! The generosity and goodwill of the whole community was overwhelming. I am incredibly proud to be the Principal at Riddells Creek Primary School. Our Special Thanks to: Jay Allen & Apec, Riddells Creek Hotel, Riddells Creek Foodworks, Riddells Creek Bakery, Rics Convenience Story, Comet Hill PS for some costumes. Catering: Caroline Buckley and her team of Fiona Walker, Ellen Wilkie, Paula Wood and Guinevere Gilbert along with the wonderful Parent Club helpers who allow us to produce events of this standard giving their support by making and donating food and helping with setup, serving and pack up. Behind the Scenes: Leith Picking, Amanda Macdonald, Angela Dempsey, Fiona Fraser, Lindy Rose, Cassie McTaggert, Melissa Storey, Kristin Barton, Maree Krohn, Lyn Hannan, Ann Davis, Jude Ellis, Flo Wallace, Ian Steward, Travis Barry, Marcus Evans, Aaron Lockett. Please visit the wellbeing blog for a reflection on our fantastic production. Just download our school app and go straight there or google wellbeing@rcps and youre there!! November is walk to school month!! More information on this will be in next weeks newsletter on this challenge. The weather should be improving which makes this more possible for many of our families. For those families who live a long way from school we will also be offering all children a lunchtime walking club. There will be a competition between the grades on how many kilometres we can clock up. Remember healthy habits start young.

Thank you and congratulations to everyone who fetched, chopped, cooked, shopped and sold meals during the Alice production; over the two nights about 500 dinners were consumed a mammoth effort. This and the sausage sizzle last Saturday raised about $4000. It was the last Parent Club sausage sizzle for this year and as he has done for the past 2 years, it was set up and taken down by Danny Buckley, seen here serving a last sausage. As we approach the end of the year it is time to consider your role in Parent Club in the future. Our President of the past two years, Caroline Buckley, will be standing down at the end of the year giving someone else the opportunity to lead this group. Carolines position formally ends at the Parent Club AGM in December. If you think you would like to play a role in Parent Club going forward, please consider coming to the next meeting, tomorrow (Friday 25th October) at 2pm in the art room. On the agenda are the remaining Parent Club activities for 2013. If youd like to see a disco or Christmas Stall before the end of term, please come along. We always like to see new parents (Dads as well) and we dont bite!
