Hi Everyone,

RIDDELL WRAP

Working Bee There is a working bee organized for P/1 parents on Saturday morning between 9 and 1. Please meet in the foyer of the main building. If you are not a P/1 parent and would like to lend a hand, please come along! Here is a list of things that we would like to do: Trim low branches and collect fallen branches around the yard, Pickup rocks and other solid items around the grounds to enable easier mowing, Rake flat soft fall under the play equipment fill in holes ! Weather permitting a light sand and paint of the green seats, paint and brushes supplied, Spread soil around low trip hazards such as along the side of footpaths and around storm water pit grills, Dig down to expose the Art Room settling tank to enable it to be cleaned in the near future, Demolish the red slide equipment in preparation for the new equipment installation, Demolish the old chook shed area to gain access to the shed that will be re-engineered into the new chook run by MJF class It would assist if some attendees could bring basic gardening equipment like bow saw/loppers/barrow/rake and a couple of trailers would be handy also. If we have a spare trailer we can load the concrete pieces and rocks collected to be taken off site! If we get some or all of the items above achieved it will be a productive day! Melbourne Heart Visit As part of the Harmony Week initiative, there will be some development officers from the Melbourne Heart team at school tomorrow running workshops for the Melaleuca students. One of the players will be attending after lunch and local MP Rob Mitchell will be calling in to see the students in action. The aim is for the students to make links with the diversity of football with the diversity of people in Australia. Incursions Last week a notice went home regarding costs for our Japanese Day next Tuesday. This was not planned for last year, thus the additional $4.00 charge for the performance. The $140 fee for 2013 covers the cost of three incursions this year. We are trying to streamline the amount of collections that go through the Office. Parents who have not paid their fees will be invoiced separately for these performances. We have already booked The Barber of Seville and Salaka: African Drums and we still have to determine the third performance. It will hopefully tie in with our production in term 4. Dont forget to check your childs class blog to see regular updates about things happening around the school.
