Men's and Womens basketball are having a free clinic on Saturday, October 19th here at AK from 10:00 to 11:30? It is open to boys and girls ages 5 to 14. We are also going to have a "Future Knights" program that you can sign up for then. More information to follow on this.
Royal Theatre Patrons meeting 6:00 p.m. Tuesday,October 1st Please join us for the first-ever general meeting of the Royal Theatre Patrons, the theater booster club at AKHS! Whether you have already joined or are a parent interested in learning more about the theater program at Ardrey Kell, this meeting is for you! Learn about what productions and events will be happening, what to expect when your student auditions and is cast in a production or joins the tech crew, and how you can help and get involved. Ardrey Kell will be hosting their 8th annual BBQ with Homecoming and Varsity Football game on Friday, October 4th. If you have bought a BBQ ticket from one of our AK student-athletes or booster club members, you may pick up your BBQ at these 2 times in
the bus lot: 11am-2pm and 3pm-7pm. Bring cash for Bake Sale and Beverage tents and enjoy some tunes by our DJ beginning at 3pm. Please note that we will have great fan support at AK and there will be a huge number of visitors that day on campus and by game time. We encourage everyone to get here early and enjoy pre-game festivities. Ticket gates open at 6pm and kickoff is at 7pm with AK vs. Olympic. Once the AK parking lot is full, all overflow parking will be at Community House Middle School. Thank for your supportGO KNIGHTS!
This is the biggest fundraiser for the year for the booster club! The proceeds will be used to support ALL Ardrey Kell athletic programs and athletes. Tickets on sale through all AK Athletes. Create your original art design, which will serve as the front cover of the Ardrey Kell 2013-2014 Phone Directory
When? How?
Deadline for submission is Friday October 4, 2013 There will be a drop box for submissions located in the main office
Contest Rules and Requirements: Art work must be your original design and creation Design must be submitted on white 8 1/2 x 11 card stock weight paper Design must be one dimensional, in color, and Ardrey Kell theme based Within your design the following should be incorporated: Ardrey Kell Directory 13/14 - Your name should not appear on the design - Your name, grade, home room and email address should be on the back of your design Final judging of all artwork submissions will be made by PTSO Committee Members. Winner will be notified in October. Questions may be directed to Sue Lloyd at slloyd@mindspring.com ******************************************************************************** * The Charlotte Area Independent School College Fair will be held this Saturday, September 28 from 1:00 3:00 PM at the Charlotte Convention Center downtown. Over 200 Colleges and Universities will be in attendance from around the country!! Make plans to attend!!
Parent and/or Community Volunteers needed - 1 hour per week We are again looking for volunteers that would be willing to come in 1 hour a week during the school day to work with one of our newest English Language Learners (ESL students). No experience required! You would be working with the student(s) on conversational English and speaking and listening using academic language. Resources are available to assist you, but primarily the students need to practice speaking English in one-on- one conversational situations. There are immediate needs Monday - Friday from 8:50am - 2:10pm. If interested, please register on the CMS website, click register to volunteer in CMS . This is mandatory! When that is complete, please send an email with day and time availability to Jenn O'KaneFenk at jennifer.okane-fenk@cms.k12.nc.us.
