Learners learn that the particle model explains the properties of solids,
A. Content Standards
liquids, and gases and the processes involved in changes of state.
By the end of the Quarter, learners recognize that scientists use
models to describe the particle model of matter. They use diagrams
and illustrations to explain the motion and arrangement of particles
B. Performance during changes of state. They demonstrate an understanding of the
Standards role of solute and solvent in solutions and the factors that affect
solubility. They demonstrate skills to plan and conduct a scientific
investigation making accurate measurements and using standard
units.
I. OBJECTIVES
Learning Competencies
2. describe the Particle Model of Matter as “All matter is made up of
tiny particles with each pure substance having its own kind of
particles.” Objectives:
At the end of the lesson the learners should be able to:

IV. PROCEDURES
The students can answer in English or Filipino or any dialect you are
comfortable with.(INDICATOR #4- MTB and 7- liguistic)
The teacher let the students watch a short video on one of the famous fables entitled
The Turtle and the Rabbit then the following questions are added. (HOTS- .
(INDICATOR #3)
1. Why did the turtle and the rabbit decide to have a race?
2. If the rabbit didn’t sleep during the race, who do you think will win? Why?
3. What ability does the rabbit have that the turtle doesn’t have?
The teacher let the students guess the topic from the video presented and start to
introduce the topic in reading the objectives.
Note: The students can answer in English or Filipino or any dialect you are
comfortable with.(INDICATOR #4- MTB and 7- liguistic)
1. Pre-lab:
Giving of instructions and rubrics to be used in rating student’s activity;
remind policies, rules, protocols and other clarification. -(Indicator #5- secure
learning environment)
B. EXPLORE
(15 min) (Indicator 10- Accurate and constructive feedback)
PROJECT WATCH INTEGRATION: Before the activity, the teacher will give the
rules/ policies on how the students will do the activity. All groups have their
tasks to do, and the teacher will give the responsibilities of each assigned
task. (Reporter, timer, secretary and leader). The students are also
encouraged to observe time consciousness as they perform the activities
within allotted time. Instill in them the value of cooperation, participation and
respecting one’s ideas. These values are necessary to accomplish tasks.
Each group will have 10 minutes to do the activity. Project watch
integration
The teacher will give this activity to further enhance the lesson.
Students may be tasked to read the situation below and answer the
questions. (Project DEAR Integration)/ Promoting Literacy- Indicator #2

(Artistic, Mathematical and Critical Thinking skills)
I. Objectives
In this activity, you should be able to:
a. Describe the motion of an object in terms of distance or displacement.
II. Materials
Ruler
Pencil
III. Procedure
Read and answer the questions in the following situation.
The teacher asked the class to research on the biography of Wenceslao Q. Vinzons. The
shrine of Wenceslao Q. Vinzons, the hero of Camarines Norte is in the municipality of Vinzons
Camarines Norte. Some of her students do not know the location of the Vinzons’ shrine.
Johny, one of her students knows the place well. His house is near it. Johny is noted to be a
helpful student. He knows that his classmates don’t have the money to spend in going to the
Vinzons Shrine. Because of his compassionate nature, he helps his classmates. Since the shrine
is far from the school, he asked his classmates if they are willing to walk. All of them said “yes”.
Johny and his classmates went to the Vinzons Shrine. They walked 4 km North, then 7 km
West. They took a rest for 15 minutes and started to walk 8 kms in the same direction. And finally,
they reached Vinzons Shrine.
Vinzons Shrine
What is the total distance (in km) travelled by Johnny and his classmates?
_____________
What is his displacement? _______________
Based on the activity, what are the differences between distance and
displacement, write your answers on the table below. (You can use the
statements below in filling up the table. Write the characteristics on the table
and check if it describes distance or displacement.)
I. Objectives
In this activity, you should be able to:
a. Describe the motion of an object in terms of distance or displacement.
b. Differentiate distance and displacement in terms of magnitude and
direction.
c. Measure the distance and displacement of a moving object
II. Materials
Ruler
Pencil
III. Procedure
Read and answer the questions in the following situation.
