IRRIGATION

INTRODUCTION
WHAT IS RAINWATER
HARVESTING?
Rainwater harvesting (RWH) is the
collection and storage of rain,
rather than allowing it to run off.
Rainwater is collected from a roof-
like surface and redirected to a
tank, cistern, deep pit (well, shaft,
or borehole), aquifer, or a
reservoir with percolation so that
it seeps down and restores the
groundwater.
WHAT IS drip irrigation?

drip irrigation is a method of

irrigation in which water is
supplied to the plants directly
using small pipes which
makes water drip slowly to
the roots of the plant. It is
used to reduce evaporation
and therefore water loss.
REASONS FOR
RAINWATER
HARVESTING and using
drip irrigation.
 Easy to install and maintain.
Rainwater harvesting is not a
complicated process.
 Free from pollutants.
 Reduces consumption of
groundwater.
 Helps recharge groundwater.
 Reduces water bill.
 Prevents flooding.
 Helps with irrigation.

Problem identification
One day I read an article and
discussed with my parents that
water scarcity is a major issue that is
rising very rapidly in the modern
world. And we used other methods
also. There is so much water
shortage in the world and the next
day it was raining and lots and lots
of water was getting wasted…
SOLUTION

So, the answer to this problem is

RAINWATER HARVESTING And DRIP
IRRIFATION
For this, I and my parents prepared a
small working model of this plant
which can be used in households,
hospitals, schools, etc.
WHY WE CHOSE
THIS PROBLEM?
AS YOU KNOW THAT WATER
SCARITY AND NOW YOU HAVE
WATER YOSECURITYIKE YOUR
LIFE HAPPLIY AND BUT AFTER
SOME YEARS HAPPILYHERE
WILL BE NO WATER THEN. AS
YOU KNOW THAT LIFE = TO
WATER SO WE CANT’T LIVE
WITHOUT WATER

Storing rainwater helps in recharging the
Conclusion
Rainwater harvesting and drip
irrigation has various benefits and
uses; however, harvesting systems
have to operate and maintain to
ensure water quality. Water also
needs to be purified and filtered for
use. Rainwater harvesting is a
simple and economical way of
preserving rainwater that falls on
earth. It involves collection of
rainwater on the roofs of the
buildings and storing it
underground for later use.
Rainwater harvesting conserves
valuable groundwater.
