Different Kinds of Angles

I. OBJECTIVES:
Within or at the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
a. identify the different kinds of angle;
b. illustrate the different kinds of angle; and
c. appreciate the importance of the different kinds of angles in real-life
situations.

ACTIVITY 1: MARY SAYS!


Directions:
 The teacher will be designated as Mary
and tell the students what they must do.
 The students must obey the command
of the teacher if she will say words
“Mary Says. Example: “Mary says
touch your nose”, the students also
touch their nose.
 Mary Says: “Form your arms in V
position, L position, and Straight
position”.
 Mary Says: “Raise your left arm in a (the students perform the activity using
diagonal line and raise your right arm their body parts)
on a shoulder level in a straight line."

of an angle.

So, a protractor is used to find the


measure of an angle, we place the
center of a protractor over the vertex of
an angle. Then align the mark labeled 0
with one side of an angle and read the
scale where the other side of the angle
falls.

The unit of measurement used in an


angle is called degree, denoted by a
symbol º.

Let’s define what is an angle?

ANGLE – an angle is formed by two non-


collinear rays that have a common
endpoint. The endpoint is the vertex of the
angle and each ray is the side of the angle.

Naming and Identifying Parts of an


angle
An angle is name using a number, the
vertex of the angle or the vertex with a
point on each side of the angle
Possible names of the angle:
∠1 ∠CAB ∠BAC
Vertex: B
Sides: BA and BC
Note: We always write the vertex in the
middle of the three letters.

Different Kinds of Angles:

Acute Angle – is an angle whose


measure is greater than 0° but less than
90°.

Right angle – is an angle whose
