Tips for preparing for your job interview

Presentation in a job interview: how to present yourself well?

The first step is to be understood by the recruiter. Seduction comes first and
foremost through clarity. To introduce yourself, it is recommended to go to the
essentials. Staying concise and direct also helps keep the recruiter’s attention.
Being able to summarize your journey in three sentences is an excellent exercise
to work on your synthesis skills.
Present your educational background in a recruitment interview
To present your educational background during a job interview, it is advisable to
carefully follow the chronology of your studies without repeating your CV. To
stand out, it is better to cite a specialty from your educational background, such
as mastery of a foreign language. Also the enhancement of one's qualities and
interpersonal skills.
How to make a good impression in a recruitment interview?
It's important to make a good impression. It is recommended to choose a sober
outfit. It is also necessary to allow time to anticipate possible unforeseen events.
It is also important to avoid colloquialisms and learn about the company culture.
Furthermore, we must not fear silences. These are sometimes necessary to give
yourself time to think and prepare an appropriate response.
Finally, taking an interest in your interlocutor and the work environment in which
they operate allows you to highlight your listening skills and your curiosity.
Knowing the company and the key issues of the profession inside out will
inevitably be rewarded.

the candidate's skills are essential to the company. This includes the tone used
during the presentation: determination and confidence must be felt in the speech.

How to prepare for a job interview? Discover the main

questions asked by recruiters when you apply for an
internship or a first position, and our advice for answering
them effectively.
A job interview requires real preparation to put all the chances on your side. Keep
in mind that a thorough interview will give you confidence and will be easier to
master.
Can you introduce yourself ?
The first question aims to introduce the exchange with the candidate. Provide a
structured response, showing that you have skills in organizing your thoughts.
Sometimes it is not specified whether this presentation should be given in one
minute or five, nor if it should cover your academic background and your
professional experiences. It’s best to ask for details before you start.
Can you go back over the course of your journey?
You will always have a question about your studies or your professional
experiences.
In this context, you must be able to explain the consistency between your career
choices and the desired position.
Why did you choose this profession?
An equivalent question could focus on your qualifications for this job: “Why do
you feel qualified for the position?” Avoid basic answers. Show that you have
previous experience in this field and how your degree is suitable for the position.
What is your biggest success/mistake?
This is about demonstrating that you have applied a specific skill in the past, and
that it was successful for you. Use one of your previous professional experiences
to demonstrate this success, which could also be collective. As for your biggest
mistake, it's explaining what you learned from it.
What are your hobbies ?
The recruiter will seek to understand your personality to find out if it can match
the working atmosphere in the company. Opt for frankness, there is nothing worse
than inventing a role for yourself. If your interests are different, don't panic. The
key is to argue how yours can be useful for the position.
Can we continue this interview in English?
You must be able to prove that you master the languages indicated on your CV!
Especially if the position has an international dimension. If you are asked to
switch to English, remain calm and continue the interview without appearing
unsettled.
Answering the question “why should we hire you?”
Behind this question, lies the following question: what sets me apart, what is
special about my profile? The objective here is to argue and highlight its
specificities (e.g.: experiences abroad, diversity of types of positions held, centers
of interest, use of foreign languages, etc.).
Where do you see yourself in five years?
Your answer must both demonstrate a certain professional ambition, but show that
you know how to remain realistic. The recruiter also seeks to determine if you see
yourself staying and evolving in the company. If the structure has subsidiaries
abroad, you can for example highlight expatriation desires.
What are your salary expectations?
This subject will usually be discussed, although it seems delicate. To answer it
correctly, it is better to aim precisely in relation to the position sought. “The
mistake to avoid is to consider your salary based on average income at the end of
your training and not based on the position offered.”
